That wasn't emotion. It was logic. It's why slavery isn't a good thing even for slave owners.

If you dehumanize others you dehumanize yourself. There is no way around it.

A) You said prisoners. They are rarely put in with prisoners.

B) Most arrested people get to go back to their families after a short period.

C) Most people are simply not arrested.

I just assumed when one is in jail. They are a prisoner. :rolleyes:

If you end up,behind bars, it’s a good bet you’ve been arrested. :rolleyes:

Equating slavery with protecting children is just more ridiculous emotionalism. There is literally nothing logical about what you’re saying, it’s nothing but a knee jerk emotional response. It’s what your ideology is totally made up of and this issue has forced it to bubble out! And I’m loving it!

There is an important distinction made between jail and prison.

These people are held for an extended period of time. Most arrested people can expect to post bail after being booked and seeing a judge. Jail is structured to serve as a deterrent as many of the people there are not criminals.

Slavery wasn't the point. Inhumanity was. That you are so eager to joyfully swim in Trump's lies and depravity, it's not really surprising that you eagerly jump into this sewer of inhumane practices.

That you support this hideous act of inhumanity is sickening and part of the dehumanizing process. Remember, Hitler didn't start with the final solution, he worked the public up to it starting with the yellow stars and laws against Jews, then kristallnacht, then making them live in a walled ghetto. They started with small things that eventually led to people leading others onto cattle cars and then into the showers.

Slavery, Hitler, Jews, cattle cars, you’re just over the edge with this. This has been handled this way for decades. Trump has only changed the part where they are simply just released into our population. I’m glad he’s finally enforcing the law.

Trump, due to his narcissism, does not have normal human emotions. His most ardent admirers seem to be likewise afflicted.

I get that. But I am seriously concerned with the public (not logger) becoming inured to these acts.

The idea that tomorrow there will be death camps or SS death squads einsatzgruppen is as ridiculous today as it was to the vast majority of Germans in 1933. We lose our liberty and our humanity a little at a time. It's important to stop these things before they become acceptable.
