I did say it was my absolute worst fear.

But who, exactly, are we relying on to keep it from going that far? Trump? Jeff Sessions? The GOP-held Congress?

Trump has been moving in this direction since the campaign, dehumanizing Mexicans as criminals and animals, providing a platform for white nationalists, and attempting to delegitimize the press and the FBI. The rest of the GOP has been trotting along right behind him.

Yes, this one policy is not a holocaust. However, we now have thousands of "subhuman" kids situated into camps held, in part, as part of a political ploy. It is not unreasonable to see this as a plausible stepping stone.
