The Trump Presidency VII

Question: I don't Tweet. How does Twitter work? Specifically, when Dear Leader post crazy stuff on his (page? link? feed? chain?), can someone post a response, like a discussion board (like, say this one)? Or when he says the Democrats are responsible for breaking up families at the border, does that official pronouncement from the President hang in the air unanswered?

Ignore the box that says sign-up, it will disappear if you click outside of it.

Now, all you see are Trump's Tweets but click on one and a window in the window pops up. On that feed you'll see all the replies to @realDonaldTrump

You might have to sign up and log in to Tweet @ Trump. I have an account but never use it.

Here's an example of replies to Trump blaming Democrats for his cruelty.

My mom just refused to believe the whole thing about kids being taken away. She's a lifelong Republican but kind of liked Obama and doesn't like Trump. Also she has no short-term memory, but is pretty cogent in the moment.

She kept saying, "Where are you hearing this?" The TV has been busted for a few days, mercifully, because occasionally she has the Hannity/Ingraham/Carlson trifecta going. I don't even mind Fox, some of the time, but that is a bit much. I get almost as tired of CNN when they're obsessing over the Stormy Daniels thing.

It gets pretty disgusting too when CNN lets some Trump pundit on to repeat the rehearsed crap about it being the Democrats fault. I would be fine with different POVS. But that's not what this is, it's these rehearsed statements, divert from any question, go on to the planned dodge and lies.

It might be too much to ask ("I don't belong to any organized political party. I'm a Democrat."). But it might be great if there was some Twitter site that would carry an official response to Trump from the opposition.

CNN has done a good job of covering the breaking up of kids and their disposition in camps. I thought Don Lemon calling the president and the surrogate liars was pretty awesome.

They also did some good longer features highlighting the brutality of the Kim regime in North Korea always talking about Kim's murders with pictures of Trump saluting butcher generals or being pals with Lunch Box.

One thing to be concerned about is being able to ID all these kids. Perhaps tattooing them with a unique number would be a good idea then they can always be ID?

these ***** don't care one bit. To trump and his cult members, this is a feature, not a bug. They WANT to inflict as much cruelty on the greatest amount of brown people as possible.

On the good news front, Trumps attempt at stifling CNN failed.

The anti trust lawyers at the DoJ didn't just lose, they got spanked. You may remember that Trump said he would block the merger as a candidate but then claimed to have nothing to do with the DoJ trying to stop it.

When Trump fails the nation succeeds.

I'm sorry Trump insisted on inserting himself into this issue, and for the meanest of motives. But there are legitimate questions to be raised about the merger of two of the biggest telecommunications companies in the world, and the impact of this deal on others:

The AT&T-Time Warner merger has certainly required close scrutiny. Through its cable and satellite DirecTV operations, AT&T is the nation’s No. 1 pay-television provider, with more than 25 million subscribers. (Comcast is second, with about 23 million cable customers.) AT&T is also the No. 2 wireless carrier, behind Verizon. Time Warner, meanwhile, controls some of the most popular television networks, including HBO, TBS and TNT, in addition to CNN. The prime concern is that a combined AT&T-Time Warner could jack up the rates it charges other TV distributors for content, increasing prices for consumers.

And here's somebody who thinks the judge got it wrong:
Unfortunately, as we discovered Tuesday, Leon was not up to the task. What he produced, instead, was a 172-page hatchet job that was selective and biased in its use of the evidence, stubbornly hidebound in its analysis and ignorant of economic theory and business practice. His opinion allowing the merger to proceed offers little if any useful precedent and will delay even further the development of effective competition policy for the high-tech economy.

They need to. They MUST show strength. They must make it clear that this is not how a democracy acts. If ever there was a time for strength, this is it.

This isn’t a democracy.

If only your side could run leftists who aren’t afraid of being called a leftist. Which of course will never happen because they DONT have strength, they are wimps. We can dream though!

I know, and they are getting better at least calling Trump's lies out. But just once I'd like them to allow these jerks on but cut them off if all they are going to do is repeat a pre-rehearsed talking point.

Chris Matthews tries, but even he gives in too easily. Stephanie Ruhle does, both of them are on MSNBC.

Just say it, you are repeating a rehearsed answer. No one's buying it.

A bandaid fix. What is needed is some kind of ultimate solution.

Its a democratic republic.

And better to be a leftist than a sleazoid who would separate children from their parents.

Make me ashamed of my country.

A country of great scientists and technolgists founded in and touting enlightenment liberalist ideals has come to be controlled by a dumbass wannabe authoritarian leader.

What a shame.
