Amen. How can people discuss YESTERDAY's IG report when there is a perfectly fine Whatabout to distract them.... except of course the revelation that the top guy on the Russia team and that was on Mueller's team sent a text to his bang buddy saying that "we'll stop" Trump.

can we talk about that at least?

What's the issue?

The report came out. It said that whatever was done was not done for political reasons. It doesn't deal with Donald Trump, although it certainly casts no shadow on him and does lend credence to the idea that people within the FBI were out to get him. It says that the decisions that were made were not made with political agendas in mind. It says that James Comey broke protocol, and that was a very bad idea. It doesn't say, but everyone can read between the lines, that the things Comey did that were very bad ideas were things that helped Donald Trump win the election.

So Strzok (sp?) is probably going to be out of a job, and probably ought to be, and......was there something significant going on here?

For all the caterwauling on the right about this report, when it comes down to anything significant, it was kind of a nothingburger. James Comey was insubordinate and broke protocol. That would be a bid deal if he hadn't already been fired. People in the FBI thought Donald Trump was an awful human being and shouldn't be president. Yes? Of course they did.

I would argue, to throw a bone to the right wingers, that it hints of problems with the Russia probe and possible political motivation there. That could be a big deal, and a separate investigation should be done (is being done?) about that. I am extremely uncomfortable with placing spies in a campaign. When it's all over, whoever did that really ought to have to provide some darned good justification for that, and the contents of this report hint that maybe they didn't.

But, for the most part, this report is yet another investigation into Mrs. Clinton's email, with yet more unremarkable findings, unless you happen to be Strzok.

ETA: And the fact that they didn't deliver that bombshell email along with all the other emails is a fairly big deal, to Strzok.

Strzok did not delete that bombshell email from the texts provided to Congress.

Strzok prioritized the russia investigation over the weiner laptop i have explained that a half dozen times.

As well he should have.

One was about potentially lax security regarding emails.

The other was a blatant attack on our country.

eta....

The first one has been shown to be a non issue.

Trumps investigation is ongoing.

No evidence whatsoever of a "spy" being placed in the campaign. Even Gowdy of all people supports this.

Rather, an "informant" made contact with a couple of peeps on the campaign. Experts say that given the Intel on Trump campaign member contacts with Russians, the FBI would have been negligent to not do this.

Huge difference between spy and informant. The former term is completely made up here for political effect.

And one saying they were part of a secret society. Don't forget that one.

When the Russia report comes out, we'll know more. I'm simply noting that the idea of using the FBI to perform clandestine observation of a political campaign is highly unusual, and is the sort of thing that has to be justified. Should be easy enough to do.

Even Paul Ryan and Trey Gowdy say there wasn't a spy, that the FBI was acting as it should have done given the information they had, and that there was nothing unusual about the FBI using an informant as it did given the circumstances - and these are statements made after attending a classified briefing on the subject.

Given that they're two of the most sycophantic people to Trump, I think we can give their words a little weight.

Perhaps also worth noting - Trump is no longer using the "spy" approach, yet is still banging on about a "witch hunt".

wrong, when the FBI found out that the SDNY was sniffing around about it, it became the FBI's number one priority of such urgency that Comey felt forced to release a statement about it.

I am a bit surprised that Hillary fans are actually defending Strzok. Had he not sat on it, the October surprise might have been the September nothing burger.

Thanks Strzok! Love President Donald Trump

I'm surprised that Trump supporters are still trying to claim that his actions were part of a conspiracy against Trump when they so clearly and obviously helped him win the election, but there you go.

Why would you be surprised? It was an unbelievably stupid thing to do, and then it blew up in his face. C'mon, you are talking about a guy stupid enough to text to his FBI colleague that he was banging that "we'll stop" Trump on a FBI device!

That’s just simply not true. Weren’t they calling the spy an informant?

An informant informing on a rival campaign, year that sounds legit.

This is why I say people on the left cannot be trusted in these positions. They are corrupt in nature.

Oh that's how it's being spun, is it? That he thought that it would help Clinton and harm Trump, because he's just that stupid.

Okay, if that makes you feel better.

Who, in your opinion, is more sycophantic to Trump?

Please do try to read the posts you're responding to.

You heard it here first, folks, Paul Ryan and Trey Gowdy are "on the left"!

Okay, if that makes you feel better.

Spun? Those are simply the facts Hell Comey himself said that if had come out in September, he might not have had to announce anything.

He literally is that stupid, have you not read anything?

Can't believe that people are defending Strzok.
