He's awake again

"Imagine how much wasteful spending we’d save if we didn’t have Chuck and Nancy standing in our way! For years, Democrats in Congress have depleted our military and busted our budgets on needless spending, and to what end? No more."

"The HISTORIC Rescissions Package we’ve proposed would cut $15,000,000,000 in Wasteful Spending! We are getting our government back on track."

Yup, makes sense...

After managing to get a spending bill passed with support from BOTH parties, Trump wants to start attacking items in the bill, ensuring that the Democrats will never want to trust Trump or the republicans on any bill again.

And a lot of the Republicans are not happy with the cuts either.....Messing with their pork is just about the only thing they will fight back on.

Plus, with only a 51-49 majority in the senate, and at least one senator (McCain) who's presence is far from guaranteed for any vote, Trump and the republicans don't have much room for error.

All you would need is one senator who either supports the spending in the bill as it stands or decides that cutting agreed to spending will harm further attempts at compromise and the Recission is dead.

Ok. I guess one of us is lousy at humor. I assume it is me so I'll spell it out. I thought the bolded Trump would clarify. There has only ever been one Trump inauguration in all of history. The attending crowd could be nothing other than the largest. Also, the smallest, the first, and hopefully the last.
I got your joke. I was just kidding.

He doesn't know the words to God Bless America.

Why would he include a song he doesn't know?

Every President lies a little.but Donnie is taking it to new heights. He lies when there is nothing he could gain from it...
He gains in a way, by fostering reckless disregard for truth. Although I think it's possible that will come back to bite him.

What is your objection?
Unless someone is a violent criminal or the like the whole pardon issue doesn't bother me much. People who have been found guilty and have done the time/paid the fine/whatever have already been punished. As far as Trump pardoning people to signal that he'll be loyal to people like Paul Manafort, meh. His loyalty does not really count for much and it's a pretty slender thread to hold on to if someone used as a reason not to cooperate in an investigation.

There may come a time when being pardoned by Trump will be worse PR than just letting the conviction stand.

I doubt very much that he knows the words to "The Star-Spangled Banner" either.

"O say can you see ... rocket's red glare ... flag still there .... home of the brave.

I thought it was interesting that he tweeted only a small group of Eagles would attend. It makes him look weak, IMO. He let on that he'd been snubbed. Possibly the candor was accidental.

And Fox apologizing on the kneeling thing - I'm relieved they didn't just try to paper over it. It means they don't think they could get away with it, and for Fox to think that ... good. Public opinion does matter. I hope seeing a minority-elected president **** all over the presidency galls people enough to vote. If it doesn't, then this country really does get the government it deserves.

I would normally not think it better to vote for a Democrat, no matter who ... I still don't know if I support it. But this Congress. Something's gotta give.

A pardon doesn't annul a conviction. It only sets aside further punishment.

But I disagree with you to a point. A pardon by Trump could lead to one being a celebrity in right wing circles. Speaking fees and honorariums etc are likely to flow to some of them.

Now rumors that Donnie will not attend the upcoming G-7 Meeting, because he would get quite an earful from the other 6.
This would greatly increase the US's isolation from the world. Trump is undoing almost 70 years of international cooperation.
And the irony is this will be disasterous for the US in the wrong run.

What a wimp. The man has the backbone of a jellyfish.

Fox News apologized for using photos of Philadelphia Eagles players kneeling to pray before and claiming that they were protesting the national anthem.

Last I heard, they didn't apologize on the air. They know their target audience doesn't Twitter. It was a deliberate lie intended to sway public opinion and they're not in the least sorry about it.

Is fox sports related to fox news? or is that spun off? if the former, seems like fox wants to have it both ways... seeing as they carry the NFC games/

Just yesterday, the state department tweeted an obnoxious post about how the US was reestablishing itself as a world leader

Or , as Theodore Roosvelet once said of a political opponent;

"He has the backbone of a Chocolate Éclair".
The Rough Rider is turning over in his grave at what Donnie has done to the GOP.
