Kevin Trudeau was on Paula Zahn "NOW" last night and did his "so what, I have a right to my opinion even if it's not true" routine.

Paula wasn't super-tough on him or anything and she did flash those great legs of hers  so I forgave her for not gouging his eyes out.

Anyway, she did point out that there are a ton of letters that pour in exclaiming what a rip-off the book is and also points out that the book is stinking up the review charts over at Amazon.

If you'd like to toss some old tires, car batteries, roadkill etc. on the fire at Amazon, here is the link.

Kevin's Lame Reviews

Kevin Trudeau: Get off my TV

We have the technology to keep children from veiwing unacceptable television programs, why can't they update the guidelines and the V-chip to filter out Bull****. Please any engineers out there help us poor people. I can't seem to find a day where this renard is spouting about garbage.

Please note, no logic, no critical thinking, just tired of seeing this idiot on my idiot box.

I will challenge him (Trudeau) to a superhero battle one day and slay him like the dog he is.

With my Titanium superpowers.

Then I will party like it's 1999.

There was one particular exchange on that show that was particularly funny

Paula: You've been to prison, you've been accused of fraud, you've been banned by the FTC, why should anybody trust you?

Kevin Trudeau: Why should anybody trust doctors?

Paula: Because presumably they've been through training.

Kevin: Presumably. These are the same people that have been giving us Vioxx which has killed tens of thousannds of people. Doctors are the same people who kill hundreds of thousands of people per year according to the institute of medicine

Perhaps Kevin's logic could be made into THE prime example of what a conspiracy theory is, and can do.

There are always two different ways to look at conspiracy theories. One, is that which is claimed could be true. One is that which could be true may not happen for the reason stated; it just sorta LOOKS that way.

"What a conspiracy theory is, and can do"?

Not quite.

1.) The theory is true.

2.) The theory is, in part, true.

3.) The theory is false.

That being said, what theory are you talking about? That Doctors conspired to "kill hundreds of thousands"? Or that pharmaceuticals conspired to make lots of money by keeping people sick and giving them harmful medication?

Surely there is SOME evidence of such a conspiracy other than wink, wink, nudge, nudge connect the dots BS. If such a conspiracy exists then it is the largest conspiracy in the history of civilization. One of the problems with conspiracies is that the larger they are the harder it is to keep the conspiracy a secret. The more conspirators the more likely someone is going to tell.

Where is your evidence?

I saw this too. I couldn't believe the crap he was spewing. I wanted to reach through the TV and choke the sh1t out of him. My only hope is that any viewers who had been thinking of buying his book saw him for the con that he is. He had no answers for anything and eventually had to resort to saying things like "It's my opinion." I do have to applaud CNN for pointedly stating at least three times that, "Kevin Trudeau is not doctor, a trained medical professional, or even a scientist. He is a salesman and his book is purely his opinion."

Especially if only a handful of quacks can properly test and replicate studies that their stuff works better. If they could do that (strangely, most don't even seem interested in doing that), game over. Conspiracy dead.

Thank you.

Funny thing, humans are living so long that we are now warehousing them. Diseases that ravaged mankind during the good ol days when we only had the cures in Trudeau's book are eradicated in Western Civilizations. Yet here we are being kept sick and in poor health by Doctors and health care providers while constantly setting new records for longevity. Hmmmm......

Iamme:
Well, I can give you an example of why we have medical conspiracy theories. Take sleeping pills for example. Do sleeping pills work? I guess they do, right? But are the drug companies going to tell you that letting someone hit you over the head with a hammer, for free, cause the same effect? No. :) (There are better examples, but I threw this one in for a cheap laugh)

Here is another: Take the cleaning industry? The chemical company comes out with miracle product X that is supposed to miraculously clean decks...clean mildew. But are they going to tell you that an 89 cent jug of bleach will do the same exact thing?

So, the word starts getting out about this stuff. Are people going to so readily trust the pill-making companies, or the cleaning product companies when they feel bamboozled into paying big bucks for products for which there was stuff they could use about their own homes that cost a dime on the dollar that produce the same result?

Now fast forward to such "wild" claims like Kevin comes up with. Now can't you see, how it all becomes more believable when you start to understand how all this got started in the first place?...that the companies are after money and not out for our best interests? It DOESN'T sound like too big a stretch...or conspiracy theory, if you will...to me, anyway.

Except, Iamme, that Trudeau cannot prove one iota of the crap he's printing. That's the thing about conspiracy theories; there is enough "fact" to give it plausibility, but close examination and critical thought shows that there is nothing but tenuous connections and hasty generalizations.

Please to provide these better examples? Herein lies your fatal flaw. It's not the job of the drug companies to tell you anything. It's the job of your doctor. You need to demonstrate that the drug companies and the doctors have colluded. Otherwise why would your doctor not tell you of a cheaper way to treat you. Oh, and BTW, many doctors don't want to prescribe expensive medicines because they are members of HMO's and such a racket that you suggest is antithetical to that market mode.

So, the word starts getting out about this stuff. Are people going to so readily trust the pill-making companies, or the cleaning product companies when they feel bamboozled into paying big bucks for products for which there was stuff they could use about their own homes that cost a dime on the dollar that produce the same result?
Again, you posit a false argument. You assume there are these remedies that achieve the same result. We have been asking time and again for the evidence and you simply don't provide it.

Now fast forward to such "wild" claims like Kevin comes up with. Now can't you see, how it all becomes more believable when you start to understand how all this got started in the first place?
This all got started because science and medicine are imperfect. We fear disease and often mistrust authority. People lack critical thinking skills so they are willing to believe that putting a pyramid under your bed will make you feel better. Or putting a crystal in your pocket will relive stress.

...that the companies are after money and not out for our best interests? It DOESN'T sound like too big a stretch...or conspiracy theory, if you will...to me, anyway.
Yes, it IS a very big stretch. If antibiotics didn't work no one would use them and the drug companies would go out of business. It IS in the interest of the drug companies and your doctor to cure you.
