I thought Manafort was in the lead but Cohen has surged ahead with this bit of news.


On another topic: Trump's alleged payments to Cohen. A theory: Trump may have let Cohen run his little fake access scam in return for Cohen picking up the tab for some Trump related hush money payouts. When Trump's lawyers figured this scheme out they realized that it might seriously jeopardize Trump because it would suggest that Trump was complicit in Cohen's scam so they ginned up this idea of having Trump reimburse Cohen which they theorized might help isolate him from Cohen's access scam. This is my own theory and facts might be publicly available that could disprove it. Still assuming that this theory is correct it is not out of the range of possibility that Cohen could testify about it and there might be corroborating evidence for it.
 
Trump lawyer 'paid by Ukraine' to arrange White House talks


Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, received a secret payment of at least $400,000 (£300,000) to fix talks between the Ukrainian president and President Trump, according to sources in Kiev close to those involved.

The payment was arranged by intermediaries acting for Ukraine's leader, Petro Poroshenko, the sources said, though Mr Cohen was not registered as a representative of Ukraine as required by US law.

Mr Cohen denies the allegation.

The meeting at the White House was last June. Shortly after the Ukrainian president returned home, his country's anti-corruption agency stopped its investigation into Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort.
