I hadn't even noticed that, though I don't give much of a damn. But we Bs have been watching S01 and S02 of 'The Crown' lately, and poor Princess Margaret couldn't marry the love of her life because he was a divorcee. KIng Edward too, somewhat earlier.
 
And May has apparently divided her cabinet into two working groups to come up with a Brexit plan.

I suspect the reality is closer to; "Right I have had enough, Remainers go stand in that corner of the cabinet room, Brexiteers go to the opposite corner and you can't come back to the table until you all agree to play nicely."

That sounds implausible - she isn't that firm a leader.

I imagine it's more like Corporal Jones trying to run the Cabinet.
 
I was "Oop North" this weekend and therefore spent a lot of time in the car. On Sunday I had to listen repeatedly to reports of Theresa May's Sunday Times article where she assured us that she was working to deliver the Brexit that we all voted for - one where we are absolutely out of the customs union.

Strange, I don't remember that being explicitly stated by the Leave campaign :confused:

Indeed, warnings from the Remain campaign that this may be a consequence of Brexit were dismissed as "Project Fear" by the Leave campaign.

I think it is clear, what britain clearly really wanted in the vote was a no deal exit from the EU and customs union. Good thing that is what they are going to get.

..and presumably Theresa May's "previous pledges" were made after the Brexit referendum - during the referendum she claimed to be pro-remain.

Don't worry, it's all part of the wonderful trade deal we will get as soon as Brexit is complete. Didn't may promise us a deal with the USA. Any increase in the cost to the NHS will be offset by all the billions we will make in trade with Trump and the USA.

What I remember being explicitly stated by Vote Leave was that we would negotiate the terms of a new deal before beginning any process to leave.

Doesn't seem to be related specifically to Brexit - it's about what the USA charges the NHS to buy drugs - those prices could go up or down regardless of Brexit. The same applies to USA-produced drugs sold to other European countries.



It's about Trump's 'America First' policies - he doesn't see why it's right that the NHS should be able to buy American-made drugs cheaper than American healthcare providers can. If it's true that this is happening, then I agree with Trump. However, one should never believe what Trump says without checking, and it's much more likely that Trump is mistaken and/or lying.

Well strictly speaking that seems to be China first this week. Maybe if you fund his projects you can get a better trade deal from the US?
