The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

Was Trump University a failure? It made a lot of money and he didn't have to pay most of it back after all. You have to use the proper metrics for success and failure in this case. As long as the losses are not on his balance sheet all those can count as successes.

So you don't mind normalizing theft and fraud?

The point is that theft and fraud can both be either a success or a failure. Not for the victims, of course, but a positive outcome for the victims is not how you measure success for those activities.

Lawrence O'Donnell pointed out tonight that Trump is the first president in history to require White House staff to sign non-disclosure agreements, and yet he has the leakiest administration in history. The guy is too incompetent to even get intimidation right.

From what we have been hearing, he needed to sign one himself, perhaps more than anyone else.

It's going to be tough for him to stop the leakers as long as he is the biggest leaker of them all.

I guess as long as he doesn't run out of scapegoats he'll manage, but can the supply be infinite?

Ouch

As a Russia analyst for many years, it also has appalled me that hosts who made their reputations as super-patriots and who, justifiably, savaged President Obama for his duplicitous folly with Putin, now advance Putin's agenda by making light of Russian penetration of our elections and the Trump campaign. Despite increasingly pathetic denials, it turns out that the "nothing-burger" has been covered with Russian dressing all along. And by the way: As an intelligence professional, I can tell you that the Steele dossier rings true--that's how the Russians do things.. The result is that we have an American president who is terrified of his counterpart in Moscow.

...So, to all of you: Thanks, and, as our president's favorite world leader would say, "Das vidanya."

Stories circulating that top GOP officials are working overtime to talk Trump out of firing Mueller, since they feel that would be pretty much handing the November election to the Democrats...

Oh, Ralph Peters, the fascist psychopath known (especially in the region) for his unbelievably arrogant map where he fantasizes how the Empire should carve up the Middle East to make it "better" through creating a lot of little ethno states with "blood borders".

Having him as an enemy is a honour, applauding him in sheepish ignorance is an embarrassment.

I hardly think having anything at all to do with Donald Trump short of flushing him down the toilet being an honor. I'm just afraid he'll reappear in the sewers as Pennywise the Trump Clown.

Well, despite Peter's rather harsh Conservative views, and that it took him so long to finally realize Fox News improprieties, at least he was able to understand the Russians truly are working against the U.S., partly in thanks to an ineffectual President who really needs to be removed from office

The Russians are working against Peters' bloody delusions which have nothing to do with "conserving" anything but with destroying the lives of countless more subhumans on the other side of the planet.

There is another option, one which maybe requires more nuance than Trump has.

A program may do good work no matter who donates to it. A foundation may donate to such a program while also siphoning money to Clinton's friends or the Clintons. The good work by the program is still good.

Like I said, such nuance is likely beyond Trump, but there is no real reason that someone who thinks that the Clinton Foundation is corrupt should be compelled to conclude that every organization to which they donate is worthless.

ETA: Just to be clear, I don't have any reason to believe the Clinton Foundation is corrupt.
Then why did you suggest it?

The independent charity assessment felt 95% of the donated money went to the causes and 5% went to administration, IIRC.

Wow, the Russian whore just congratulated his john for an election victory. I'm sure the announcement of the meeting was to ensure Trump will have an opportunity to congratulate Putin on bended knee.
No, too antithetical to Trump's narcissism. Trump will eat up the hobnobing and Putin will be laughing every time Trump is out of the room.

If you call Trump a success without adding thief, you are normalizing his atrocious behavior,

Trump is a successful con artist and thief, that's it, end of story. You can think what you want.

Would you also call Bernie Madoff a great businessman had he not been arrested?

I could hardly believe he congratulated Putin for rigging another election. One where Putin jailed his opposition. Look at all the people Trump criticizes and yet he continues to keep his nose deep in the crack of Putin's behind.
