In business, one might make the case his successes outweigh the failures. To be fair, he turned a smallish fortune into a much bigger one in spite of those losses.
In government, a single “loss” can be disastrous, and not so easily offset by a win elsewhere.
Is that true? I thought I had read that if he had taken the money his daddy gave him and put it in a nice S&P 500 index fund, he would be much richer now.

And don't forget to deduct all the money laundering profits, money from ripping people off, not paying contractors, and leaving others holding the bag when he filed multiple bankruptcies when you evaluate his business acumen.

So, possibilities:
- in the past Trump was simply ignorant of the good stuff the Clinton foundation does
- Trump actually knew the clinton foundation was a decent charity, but chose to slam it out of pure political partisanship, even though such criticism might negatively affect its work
Two more possibilities:
- Trump is unable to retain memories and judges everything as if it was the first time he heard about it
- Trump is unable to make any moral judgement, period
