The message came from Trump and those associated to him. We know they've been dishonest about the Russia investigation. I see no reason to suddenly assign them traits of honesty they've not demonstrated heretofore. Part of being a skeptic is considering the credibility of the source. On the weight of their previous statements about the Russia investigation, one must conclude that in all probability, Trump and Sessions are lying about why they fired McCabe.
Remember that Tweet of Trump's about three months ago, wherein he mentioned the fact of McCabe counting down to his retirement in "90 days"? That will likely figure in any coming redressing of the injustice done McCabe, going to show Trump's awareness of and planning of this 'humiliation' to come. And the sheer rapidity of action on the part of Sessions the traitor elf to exact the firing, late on a Friday evening no less, points only more clearly to the political revenge behind it all.
Everything surrounding Trump is turning ever more rapidly into a festering, fetid sewer. His accelerating cleaning out of what he formerly claimed to be "the best", to be replaced by yet more incompetent, robotic yes men, without a peep from his spineless Congress, astonishes me to astonishing levels of astonished astonishment.
The really stupid thing is that this makes Trump look guilty. He looks like he's trying to discredit a witness.
he was fired pursuant to the recommendation of Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz who was appointed by Obama.
Uh oh, that means what exactly in the skeptics calculus of Trump is teh liar?

But that report has not been released. We're told it's based on the report but from Trump appointees who are demonstrably untrustworthy, particularly with regards to the Russia investigation.
And Now McCabe will be more then anxious to tell whatever he knows.
DUmb,dumb,dumb move.
Not that McCabe will suffer much for it. Guaranteed, he will make more money on the lecture circuit and from his book then he ever would have with his pension.
Though I am betting a way will be found to get him his retirement benefits.
"CNN reported on Wednesday that the findings in Horowitz's report on McCabe were referred to the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility, staffed with career officials, who recommended McCabe's termination."
How long before he fires Mueller? Or fires Rosenstein for not firing Mueller?
Even stipulating all that...
...what would it have hurt to wait a couple days so the poor guy could get the pension he had earned?

What would happen if they did close down the Mueller investigation before its finished?
There would be a bit of a fuss in the press and online but the GOP would find a reason to support it and after a few days everything would carry on as before.
