Caught up H.R. McMaster outside of the West Wing. He told me "Sarah set it straight yesterday. Everybody has got to leave the White House at some point"
I asked whether he's leaving sooner rather than later: "I'm doing my job" and then he walked away. No denial.
As with his narcissism, his white supremacism, his misogyny, his corruption, and his general lack of intelligence and inability to forsee consequences, this was widely known about Cheeto Benito during the election.
The clown has basically cemented his place as among the worst presidents in US history a while ago, so the question is exactly how much do people like Paul Ryan want to tie their own legacies to his.
In before Nunes moves to squash the referral and the Democrats meekly comply. If they had a spine we'd have seen it by now.
Trump has tweeted about the firing
"Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI - A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!"
Classy act.
President Trump needs to be careful, some of that tweet is IMO actionable.
Doesn't *********** matter. The punishment is not proportionate to the offense no matter how you look at it.
:
Though I am betting a way will be found to get him his retirement benefits.
In the UK someone treated this way would sue his former employer for unfair dismissal. Is there no US equivalent?

I honestly try to put myself in another’s position.
In this case, to imagine that I really detested some action or actions an FBI employee had done to harm some cause or person to which I was attached.
For the liberals here, imagine the same scenario with Dick Cheney or Karl Rove in the role of McCabe. Try to envision whether a timely firing to deprive them of some benefit would be construed as “just desserts”.
I like to think I would still have waited a couple days so that he or she could get the retirement they had earned over 20+ years of service. That some inner sense of fairness would prevail.

To much to hope for with this administration, I suppose.
There's some irony in the fact that Comey and McCabe were fired for actions that hurt Clinton and helped Trump win the election...
More than some, I would say.
To my eyes this is a classic case of intimidation. Every government employee with some significant time in has to be getting the message:
You cross this administration at your own peril, they retaliate in personal ways. They will take the bat to you. Some government climatologist or biologist working on a report on the effects of climate change or industrial pollution, may have to think hard about writing something they know will run counter to what the administration wants to believe.
The piece of garbage who is our president is doing a lot of damage. I wonder if The Dunce liked De Niro in the Capone movie?
.
We lack the details to determine if he was fairly or unfairly dismissed.
