The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

The fact that anyone is paying attention to Nunberg at all is both silly and exactly what he wants. He's a Roger Stone wannabe who had a moment during the Trump campaign of being lifted from absolute obscurity and has craved it ever since, flopping around fishfully for anyone who will pay him heed. It's ridiculous. The media are lapping up this 'crazy guy' act presumably on the basis that they can tack 'former Trump aide' to the story. There's no value whatsoever in reporting on this guy other than circus freak entertainment.

Well, he's getting the attention. He told an AP reporter that he was just a little miffed but that he'll probably find a way to cooperate with them. So much for heading off to a support-the-shlockwork-orange-jail-term shenanigans.

The concern with Stone, Nunberg, Flynn, The Mooch, Bannon, Manafort and all the other "coffee fetchers" whose roles are being downplayed is that these are the people who've impressed the dear leader. He likes these folks. It cannot be bad advice (from whom), it's a natural affinity.

Well, what he said was:

“I’m happy if the scope changes and if they send me a subpoena that doesn’t include Carter Page,” he said, insisting the two had never spoken.

He also said he believes the only reason he’s being asked to testify before the grand jury is to provide information that would be used against Stone, a longtime Trump adviser, which he says he won’t do.

So he'll cooperate, so long as Mueller agrees not to seek information about Carter Page or Roger Stone. I don't see Mueller agreeing to that, do you?

He is complaining about a subpoena that involves communications with someone he didn't talkk to. If he didn't talk to him, then providing the emails should be pretty easy. "Here's a list of nothing".

I've seen it suggested that Mueller probably already has the emails he's asking for, and that he's not looking for the content of the emails, but to see what Nunberg doesn't hand over.

He is mad, just a good security alarm for a commercial building could swallow that amount alone, never mind a high risk target like a USA embassy.

Sir, are you suggesting that he does not understand the costs of a high-security building? I was assured that he's a real estate genius, and not at all a man with multiple bankruptcies who has been caught up in money laundering and routinely refuses to pay subcontractors.

Does he think it's a bluff and if he says no they will just forget it?

Does he think if he gets sent down Trump will pardon him?

Pardoning will not help him get out of a subpoena. If anything it would be unwise for Trump, because then he can not refuse to answer questions because of the 5th amendment.

Nunberg is going to wake up tomorrow with a huge headache, a vague sense that something is wrong, and hundreds of waiting voicemails.

I don't think he cares. he knows he is going down so is making sure he does as much damage as he can on the way.

This whole thing is a like a train wreck, and out of the flaming wreckage crawls a bunch of smaller trains, who promptly get into another wreck, and out them comes yet more trains...it's flaming train wrecks all the way down!

Best interview since the Mooch!

Any chance he meant $250,000,000?

My current house cost more than $250,000 and it definitely wouldn't work as even a temporary embassy.

When we move to Act VI for this thread can we name it “Trump Harder”, and for the inevitable sequel it can called “Trump hard with a vengeance”.

:thumbsup::D

I said before, and I say it again, this is like watching a slow-motion train wreck. You want to look away, but you can't...and it doesn't stop. Ever.

It would be so funny if it weren't our government. :(
