The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

Today is the 100th day Trump has spent at a golf course since becoming president.

For comparison, one of the main things Trump criticised Obama for was playing golf too much while president. Obama spent a total of 333 days at golf clubs in 8 years.

Was that at golf country clubs or on courses? Obama played at Andrews AFB often, a short helicopter flight or motorcade away. I don't think Trump has played at Andrews which would be much cheaper than flying to Florida or New Jersey.

That's only 32 days less than an entire year. A whole year playing golf during a presidency! There ought to be a comedy written about the ridiculous luxury of being the president of America.

Considering there’s something like 400 weekends in an eight-year period (not to mention that presidents are allowed vacation time), 333 days isn’t particularly egregious.

That was my first thought too. But there are 52 weeks in a year, so if one played golf once a week for 8 years (not unheard of for many golfers) that would be 416 days golfing. Obama "only" played on average a bit more than three weeks out of every four.

However I fully agree that one might expect a POTUS to have enough other responsibilities that golfing would be a much rarer opportunity than even 3 out of 4 weeks. But I am not a golfer and golfers are often quite fanatical about getting on the course...

100 days of golfing puts Trump at somewhat less than twice a week. But the less time he spends making policy decisions the happier I am.

[ninja'd of course- pun intended]

This Obama hater has a different figure but his keeping track of where he played is pretty damning to current Hair in Chief

Obama mostly played at Andrews AFB, Ft Belvoir and the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington. It looks like he also played at a few private courses in Virginia. Mostly he was taking a break from work instead of spending entire weekends at clubs outside the DC metro area.

Trump never plays the military courses around DC, exclusively traveling farther (father= more money) to private clubs.

Agreed on that last one. But in addition - Obama (and Clinton and GWB at the very least) also tended to have long work days. I recall reports of Obama waking up after GWB usually did, but also staying up until midnight reading letters to the President after dinner with his family, including two young children. Toupee Fiasco seems to spend long hours watching tv, and frankly, the less influence he has over his child Baron, the better off Baron will likely be.

Trump lied about freeing the UCLA basketball players.
By the time he contacted Xi they had been released for days and the charges dropped. Trump played no part, he made up the story.

Re: the gold thing

Remember, it was the TRUMP who made it a big deal. He was the one who claimed that, if he were president, he would be too busy working to play golf.

It was a straight out lie.

I really wonder, how can his supporters excuse THAT? I mean, I'm not even criticizing him for playing golf on occasion (although his having to do it at private courses is a waste). But HE was the one who claimed he would be too busy working. I'm not the one who is saying he should be working instead, HE SAID THAT.

How can supporters just ignore that?

That's every day on which he played golf.

Trump spends all of his time playing golf and watching television. He has no time available for an affair and just doesn't seem to be doing that. But he has to be doing that because that Foxx author guy says he is and we can't start doubting his accuracy and integrity because he wrote that Fire and Fury book. Oh crap, we almost forgot all about that book. Who cares if any of it is true or not anyway. Trump is just bad to the bone no matter what.

Are you okay?

How about: “It just goes to show how smart he is, saying all the right things to get elected so he could Make America Great Again! Which is what you do when campaigning. Same thing with getting help from Russia. You’re secretly just jealous of his skill.”

Trumps reply to potential EU tariffs.

"If the E.U. wants to further increase their already massive tariffs and barriers on U.S. companies doing business there, we will simply apply a Tax on their Cars which freely pour into the U.S. They make it impossible for our cars (and more) to sell there. Big trade imbalance!"

Don't BMW and Mercedes already have plants in the USA?

If US manufacturers made cars we actually wanted maybe we would buy some.

He prefers to play at Trump courses because he's making a small fortune renting golf carts to the Secret Service. That sounds like a lame joke, except: Secret Service has spent nearly $150k on golf cart rentals since Trump took office: report
