Sweden's Electrolux, Europe's largest home appliance maker, said on Friday it would delay a planned $250 million investment in Tennessee, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced tariffs on imported aluminum and steel.
On Thursday, Trump said the duties — 25 percent on steel imports and 10 percent on aluminum — would be formally announced next week, although White House officials later said some details still needed to be ironed out.
"We are putting it on hold. We believe that tariffs could cause a pretty significant increase in the price of steel on the U.S. market," Electrolux spokesman Daniel Frykholm said.
I read that AP article hoping to see they sussed out the links from the small company to the Administration.A Nebraska startup with 1 employee was awarded the first border wall contract. SWF Constructors is an offshoot of Coastal Environmental Group which has a history of not paying its subcontractors. The $11M contract was to replace 2 miles of a current fence.

Correlation is never causation, but it does waggle its eyebrows in causation's direction while mouthing look over there.
Why is that important? He had the compromising interest. He had a duty to know.
Once more... you aren't really saying much of anything.I'm not saying it does matter.

Trump’s announcement was met with a strong backlash from Republicans, who issued a steady stream of statements criticizing his decision. “Tariffs on steel and aluminum are a tax hike the American people don’t need and can’t afford,” Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said in a statement. Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) called the plan “terribly counterproductive” and warned of retaliation that would likely target U.S. agricultural exports.
Wall Street also reacted negatively. The Dow Jones industrial average initially dropped more than 500 points before it began to win back some of the losses later in the afternoon. News link

The irony of the steel/aluminum tariff is, most Republicans in Congress are very much opposed. Many of them had objected to the idea in previous policy meetings with The Dunce, urging Trump to forget it, and are angry that the prez would not only go ahead anyway but do it without forewarning the Republican leadership. As a bonus, Wall Street doesn't seem to like it either.
They as in the UK or they as in the GOP?
The GOP can legislate and stop it. Do you think they have the guts yet to defy Trumpy?
As in the Council of the EU, which I believe is the responsible body in such matters. They as in the UK or they as in the GOP?
