Too lazy to go get the link just now, but it's reported in the Trump/Russia thread that two months after Cohen paid Daniels $130,000; the Trump campaign paid Trump $130,000 and two months interest. Something from Seth Abramson, I think.

ETA: Ok, I think this is it.

I'm trying to figure out why Ms. Daniels looks so darn familiar. From the neck up, I mean. I know I've never seen any of her "work".

Exactly the Trump effect is to have so many constant new scandals that none of them can gain traction. This is what won him the presidency after all.

I read an article this morning, which I'll try to find again tomorrow when I've got a little more time, in which Bannon was quoted as saying that his tactic for dealing with "the enemy" (the press) was to "flood them with ****". Quotes are more likely paraphrases than exact quotes.

If the food in the food boxes are anything like the government issue MRE's we got in the army, then in addition to being stupid it is an atrocity against humanity.....:D

Honestly I think that angle is a red herring. There's a real scandal here, but that scandal is the payment of hush money, not that the campaign paid for it. And 130 K is a minor expense for Trump. He put 66 million into his campaign. Besides, I see no evidence. I'd like to see a report for a credible news agency not a tweet from Seth Abramson.

Steven Bannon, is a cautionary tale. His strategy is a complete failure. If his strategy worked, he'd still have a job...somewhere.

As a button down shirt model?

Several at once... points for efficiency if nothing else. [emoji2]

First, I was going to call BS. Then, I questioned my assumptions and googled. I have learned that "Ty Cobb" is not just a name for early 20th century baseball players.

Now, I'm working under the assumption that Ty Cobb became a lawyer in order to sue is parents for mental anguish.

Wow. I know little of this process. How long does it normally take to get a security clearance?

Normally?

Normally it takes however long is necessary to get the clearance before you start handling sensitive material.

There is a little slack given to some members of a new POTUS cabinet, but this is generally a month or so, not a year and counting.

If you haven't been able to get your clearance after a year, chances are you won't get it. That's why Trump's team is working from permanent "temporary" clearances.

Generally, according to press reports, four to six weeks. Here's the process at the State Department, which is probably pretty similar. They say they can offer an "interim" clearance in "a few weeks," and reach a final decision in less than 90 days. The idea that people in the White House are handling high-level secrets (and the classifications go way above "top secret") without final security approval is just insane.
