The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

Biggest one day point drop evah! MAGA.

Seriously, it’s wrong to blame Trump for the drop, just as it was wrong for him to take credit.

In his narcissism, however, he must take credit for everything good that happens, and shift blame for everything bad that happens.

I find that contrary to how a mature, responsible adult is supposed to behave, but there you have it.

Although, there's an argument for the current policy having some blame. Specifically, we want to stimulate the economy during slowdowns, but not during periods like this. Somewhere between borrowing $1T for tax breaks on top of spreading rumours abuot throwing money into an infrastructure plan during a period of low unemployment, there's a legit concern about triggering serious inflation.

The bond market is almost certainly directly responding to the huge spike in this year's annual deficit.

Yes. I heard about the jump in bonds. That is absolutely a response to the projected uptick in when to borrow, and that is due to the projected shortfall in revenues due to the tax cut.

It's never clear cut, of course, but there are things related.

Apparently Trump was strongly advised not to make a big thing of the Dow Jones so far into a bull market run, and went right ahead and did it. I doubt he could understand why he shouldn't.

I find it funny that the companies that profited so mightily off automation eliminating human jobs are now blaming their automated computer algorithms for losing them huge sums of money in a flash crash.

It's a fairly small factor in a global adjustment, which is mostly down, I think, to a sense that the bull run is coming to an end. Which is self-fulfilling, of course.

They let him have his phone back

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper! Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!

Jesus, he's stupid. Stopped by whom? Let's say the DOJ is dumb enough to bring charges. The "crime" happened in Maryland, The District of Columbia or the Northern District of Virginia, three of the least pro Trump places in the United States. Does the idiot really believe the USA could seat a jury that would ever convict? That's setting aside the fact that the remaining intelligence Republicans would not want to set the precedent on a) a separation of powers principal and b) they do politics by leak too.

Yet more proof of Trump's disloyalty to the country. Failure to clap for the president is now treasonous? Seriously, you can't support Trump and be a real, loyal American.

Tammy Duckworth responded by referring to her oaths to defend the constitution and not "Cadet Bone Spur"

Some moron Trumpet responded by saying that she lost all credibility in resorting to name calling. Seriously

I wouldn't be shocked if there was a real one floating around the interwebz though.

Damn you Poe and your law!

There's always a tweet:

EDIT:

Turns out its fake.
Yeah, the specifics, 'more than 1,000' kind of gave it away.

Trump blames the investigation into collusion and that Rusher thing for the market fall in 3...2...1

Originally however, the Nunes memo was all about a pretense to fire Rosenstein. It's not quite going Trump's way though.

The UK healthcare thing goes with the left and right running public spending. We do it here as well:
The standard right wing process
1 cut part of funding to x
2 scream that x, started by Democrats, is not working because Government is running it!
3 cut rest of funding to x, because "it failed"
