And told them what?

Unplanned drills are some of the best drills.

"I know drills, I have the best drills. Battery powered, dentist, my drills are terrific, believe me. But there's no collusion." - Dolt 45

I've heard quite a few different things as far as GWB's initial behavior on 9-11 go, but a lot of people have said that Secret Service wanted to keep him in place, since the school was known to be secure, and there really wasn't a lot he could have done in any case, given that the weapons were semi-random commercial passenger flights, rather than non-US military planes.

Now Perdue is saying Trump absolutely did not say ********. This, after claiming he couldn't recall if it was said or not. I'm thinking he wanted to make sure the meeting wasn't recorded first before telling an outright lie about it. I guess Lindsey Graham and the Democrats that affirmed Trump said what he did are all liars........

I'm more reminded of Tsar Nicholas II continuing to play tennis after learning WW1 had broken out.
Nicky was finally bumped off by commies after a catastrophic failed tenure as head of state. Trump was probably emulating Francis Drake the unflappable English hero who reacted with similar insouciance when the approaching Spanish Armada was sighted.

I think what happened, going by my experience observing this jerk, and not knowing which came first the chicken or the egg, is that once Trump had a couple allies repeating the lie with him, he went with it.

Evolution of a Trump lie:
I didn't say it but if I had said it it meant something else.
I used a different word.
I meant what I said but you all are misinterpreting it.
I didn't say it, Durbin is lying.

And there is more to the evolution yet to come.

The next steps:
Ok, he did say it but reports are out of context
Oh, he did say it in that context, but it doesn't mean much.
He said it and he was right.
The media is fake news about (insert next report here).

Eh, let's blame Trump for Trump's idiocy. These guys are just the fringe of a fringe movement.
But if they are live-streaming - I'd like to see the other side developing an Internet presence. But I have no idea how to do it.

Dreamer stories, that kind of thing.

ETA: They are developing internet media it seems.

"The Wall Street Journal stated falsely that I said to them “I have a good relationship with Kim Jong Un” (of N. Korea). Obviously I didn’t say that. I said “I’d have a good relationship with Kim Jong Un,” a big difference. Fortunately we now record conversations with reporters..."

Fortunaltey so do the WSJ.

Guess what he said?
And that's Murdoch-owned, or is it still?

ETA, where do can I find the recording?

Tonight's episode of "Madame Secretary" portrays President Dalton going off the deep end and ordering a missile strike against Russian satellites for no good reason, and his subordinates asking the cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment. After debate, they agree, but give him a chance to undergo a neuro exam before transmitting their order to Congress. It turns out he has a brain tumor. The VP takes over.

Just an interesting little lesson to the public in how the 25th would work, and why it could be necessary.

Not sure if that press release is genuine, they misspelled their own county name in the last line of the second paragraph.
Haven't caught up on the thread yet, but that is not a misspelling. Batswana is the plural for the Tswana people.

eta... imagine being ninja'd by the Dread Pirate Roberts.

You missed the "there's a record and I'll have a press conference in 2 weeks time and I'll present it"

I agree, what do people think he should or could have done at that moment?

retweet

I believe marriage should be between one man, his third wife, and as many porn stars he can get into his hotel room while his wife's home nursing their baby."

Again, the most educated group of immigrants, by country, are Nigerian. Dolt 45 bashes them for the same reason he bashes "Mexicans", the same reason he's openly hostile towards Puerto Rican recovery efforts, the same reason he insists that Obama isn't really American, and the same reason why he thinks the plainly guilty Joe Arpaio should not go to jail, while the long-since cleared "Central Park 5" should still be in jail.

He's a white supremacist. This has been obvious for years now.

But thankfully for his supporters he is ineloquent and vulgar so they can shift the debate from his racism, to his vulgarity in expressing his vulgar personal traits.

Oh, horse hockey! Your if is put to the test with his first tightening of immigration and visas. A direct target to Muslim countries... all citizens thereof, and many very well-educated ones.

Mumbles will recall the old standard: What do Mississippians call a black MIT graduate with a PhD in Molecular Biology? A ******, of course.

(And forumites should note... you let in Norwegians and pretty soon Hawk_One will be applying. Oh, wait.....)

The only way we would get any significant Norwegian immigration is if the Russians invade.

For one building?

Certainly not the most expensive ever, but it's still a pretty good chunk of change.

Even for government work.

That's about two thirds of what the Pentagon cost to build (adjusted for inflation). Which bought 6.5 million sq. ft. of building with a five acre central plaza inside of it. And lots of parking space.

Of course that is not exactly fair, the technical requirements for the Pentagon were far less concerned about security from the various means that the Embassy is concerned about. They didn't have a fraction of the worry about cyber attacks and various electronic methods of spying.

Maybe so but it doesn't even matter. I dislike Trump intensely, mainly because he's a shallow, vacant moron, but I wouldn't presume that my personal tastes should have any impact on the relationship between the UK and the US. Since when has international relations been dictated by the mob, and a self-serving, virtue-signalling mob at that?

Far better the racist minority dictate that by getting such leaders as Trump and causing Brexit.
