Who will win the Alabama Senate special election?

Who will win the senate seat

  • Total voters
    88
  • Poll closed .
It's Alabama. This shouldn't have even been a close race. The fact that Jones even won means Moore got his butt kicked.

A lot of people don't seem to realize that.

This was a crushing defeat for Moore.

Moore was simply a very poor candidate that even Trump voters did not support on election day.

I have to conclude that Moore's supposed popularity in Alabama was an illusion.

If Moore had kept even 55% of the Trump following from 2016, he'd be well ahead of Jones.

Moore was so bad that he couldn't even keep Trump voters.

When I went to bed last night, Moore was falling to a just under 2% lead. I figured he was going to win, but still thought that the fact that it was so close was still a good sign for the Democrats.

That's a bit much. Jones didn't exactly get a landslide.

It was a massive victory. Historic. The biggest victory that anyone has seen in decades.

That's how extremely small margins of victory have been described since last year. Didn't you get the memo?

I disagree.

From my perspective thing have taken an abrupt turn south with the advent of Trump.

Same perspective I had, Republicans have gone Immoral and nuts, now registered independent.
A lot of Reagan Republicans feel the same way, that's what I was counting on in this Race.

So Democrats wanted republicans to reject Roy Moore. They did. What should the Democrats give them as a thank you?

Whew!

I sure am glad that Moore got flushed.

Hopefully, this means that Trump will also get flushed in the near future.

Congrats to Jones! He is a good man and I am sure that he will be a good Senator as well.

That was too close.

Doug Jones should have won this election walking away. And to be clear, next election, Republicans will put up someone who isn't a child molester, and Jones will likely be out.

That's okay. Let's put Moore aside. Don't take this win for granted.

I dunno. Should people get a "thank you" for not voting a sexual predator into power? Shouldn't that just be the baseline for existence as a normal, decent human being?

The Democrats have provided the state of Alabama with a senator that they can be proud of as opposed to a senator who is nothing but a stupid, idiotic, sanctimonious, lying pedophile.

That should be more than adequate thanks.

I see Moore as the equivalent of a woman by the name of Ellen Craswell who ran for Governor here in the State of Washington about 15 years ago. She was a super religious conservative Republican. They would say prayers throughout a campaign rally. Now it's hard for any Republican to win a statewide office here. But Craswell shocked establishment Republicans won the Republican primary. But she was slaughtered in the general. A Republican losing to a Democrat in Alabama is the equivalent of a Republican losing by 25 points here.

They should get more than a thank you. People are not born with innate knowledge on being a decent human being. Reinforcement of the behavior would require providing a reward or removing a negative stimulus.

And, whether they know it or not, they got someone who will actually work in their actual best interests, not just pointlessly push their "abortion" and "homo" buttons. There's no turning back to those "good old days."

People know their best interests. You just can't admit pointlessly pushing back on abortion is their best interests.

If "Alabama" was a guy who changed his mind, you might have a point. The Republicans who actually changed their minds were rewarded by winning.

And Democrats have won a lot more than the republican switchers marginal win. It is the time for charity. Share the bounty.
