Who will win the Alabama Senate special election?

Who will win the senate seat

  • Total voters
    88
  • Poll closed .
By definition anyone the Democrats run is "too far left."

So clearly, it's the Democrats' fault Moore wins. If they had just supported Moore from the start, we wouldn't be in this mess. QED.

Lol

Am I the one that forces you to post these things?

I suppose I should apologise.

No. No one's missing the point he was making and that you're supporting: That "we" were better off during antebellum years. Of course, he and you both mean "we white folk".

Stop arguing that slaves had more family values. It's a stupid argument based on the opening chorus of Dixie, that the blacks longed for those wonderful days and nights on the old plantation. By the period that Judge Roy is speaking about there was a slave-breeding industry in the south. There weren't breeding businesses per se, the noble plantation owners did it. But they traded through an organized entrepreneurial class in several major cities, notably Charleston, Richmond and New Orleans. Humans were treated as beasts of burden and bred for productivity. Families were split up at whim for purely commercial reasons. Mommies were separated from daddies and made to produce (if they were "breeders") more babies with other men. Sometimes those males were other slaves, often they were overseers, owners, or owners' kin. No one cared. Well, no one who mattered... meaning "we" white folk.

Stop posting nonsense.

You’re correct in saying I support his point. It’s quite clear to understand his meaning. Only a fool would think he was specifically saying how wonderful slavery was blacks. Most here just what to use it dishonestly to reinforce their leftist narrative.

Unless there is a new accuser with hard evidence of a more recent sexual assault, Moore will most likely win.

By what measure were families better?

Even trying to put myself in the shoes of a devout Christian, I can't see it. If he means Christianity as vital to strong families, we talking about millions of Americans forced to worship through violence. That blows something like that out of the water.

There could be video evidence of Moore screwing a toddler, and he'd still win. Sexual assaults on minors are inconsequential. What matters is the 'win'.

Comparing the families back then to the drug addled broken fatherless families of today? Possibly?

He seems to make no reference to the tragedies families went through then or now, seems to just be talking about the health of the family unit?

Which means he was talking out of his back passage. The family unit was no stronger then then it is now. Families were just as dysfunctional - the major difference being that divorce is now available to allow a relationship that has completely broken down to cease far more easily, rather then being forced to remain "intact".

Lol

And, obviously no!

Families were just as disfunctional, lol!

Slavery is a systematic destruction of fathers and the role of parents in children's lives.

As for drug addled, I'm not sure there was less drug abuse in the 1800s compared to the 21st century.

Of course there was - it wasn't illegal back then!

Also, most states allowed only white male adult property owners to vote, women couldn't vote in any state, wives & children were considered property of the husband, spousal rape wasn't accepted as a crime and only men could seek divorce. It was a time that sucked for everyone that wasn't a white male land owner.

Fitting with this:

Amendments Roy Moore Would Repeal:
13th: Abolished slavery
14th: Equal protection
15th: African American's right to vote
17th: Direct election of senators
19th: Women's right to vote
23rd: DC residents vote
24th: Abolished poll tax
26th: Set voting age at 18

Roy Moore, he's not just pro-segregation; he's pro-slavery!

My point, with which you apparently agree, is that Moore is making statements like Trump makes. When they say things were better or that they're going to (or want to) return to a time when America was great, they are ignoring a couple of races and one whole gender.

And the kiddie diddler specifically references slavery so he must, by definition (by his own words) be talking about the antebellum period.

“I think it was great at the time when families were united — even though we had slavery. They cared for one another. People were strong in the families. Our families were strong. Our country had a direction.

Let's examine this nonsense.
"I think it was great at the time when families were united" - white families because black families were anything but and Native American families were merrily being run out of all the white territories.
"Even though we had slavery" - quite obviously he's talking about antebellum America. Ever been to Ebeneezer Baptist? Wanna ask them about the great quality time they had with their families in the 1850s?
"They cared for one another. People were strong in the families. Our families were strong." - By what standard. This is history according to Margaret Mitchell and bodice ripper miscegenation novelists.
"Our country had a direction." - Yeeeeeee Haaaaaa! It shore did, boy! Heading straight for the worst war in the history of the nation. Nothing makes for good old-fashioned family values like dead daddies, right?

The thing is, he didn't mention blacks. He doesn't think of blacks. He's talking about the people who mattered and who matter to him. White folks. It's the apologists and blind partisans who've gone off the deep end trying to insinuate that even in slavery black families were stronger and better off. Stronger? Sure, it was an era of iron-fisted patriarchy so by one definition of "strong" there's that point.

It's all stuff and nonsense.

Actually, back during those times there were many great things. Obviously intelligence leads a person to surmise that those times don’t include slavery.
