Split Thread Scorpion's Spiritualism

Its so long ago I can't remember the make, but it was Japanese and rod operated. It was a 400cc and I think it was a Suzuki.

IT WAS TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE ROD TO HAVE COME UNDONE BY ITSELF.

Perhaps one of the good spirits had loosened it so you could be in a terrible accident and learn a very important lesson so you'd get nearer to god and then the malicious spirit whispered doubt to you to make you look, preventing you learning the important lesson and keeping you away from your god?

With no disembodied voice whispering in your ear or hovering apparition, what would jump you to the conclusion that your thoughts are not your own?

I have heard all kinds of voices since the 1960's and some times they have made a lot of sense. Like the time they told me I would have a win on the lottery one hour before the draw.

There you go again, coming up with the worst scenarios you can think of . But once again you are citing an example caused by men's actions. God may allow such things but everything is accountable, and the rapists will pay for it in the end. Injustices done to individuals will be compensated.

Oh I've not picked the worse examples of actual suffering your god requires people to experience so they can back to god.

The woman who was raped I saw being interviewed and she had been disowned by her husband and family for being the victim of the terrible rape and was trying to survive in one of the appalling "refugee camps" with her new born child.

Can't see how that compensates her for the rape and the casting away.

Scorpion, listen: please stop and think for a second. You came back to your bike and noticed the clutch was loose. (Or stuck depending on which time you're telling the story.) You would have to be an utter moron to NOT check over the bike at that point. Seriously. You're ascribing this to spirits??? Believe whatever you want, but this is absurd.

Or or or - maybe it worked itself loose. Why jump to the conclusion that a person deliberately did that? Had you received credible death threats then by people who knew your bike and your activity patterns?

I've lost count of how many times I've discovered a flat tire that was perfectly fine when I parked the vehicle. Does that mean someone deliberately keeps following me around the country and letting the air out of my tires?

Yes, it's me.

The 60% proof kind?

I was asking myself last night what I know for certain. It came out as..

50% sure there is a God
60% sure there is a spirit world
80% sure telepathy exists and I have experienced it.
80% sure someone put nails in my back tyre.
90% sure the police investigate me in 1988 and labelled me a psychopath
90% sure the police tried to break my mind with psychological tricks.
100% I know someone undid my brakes.

The only thing I know for a fact is someone undid my brakes.

About nails in rear tires...

Vandalism can’t be entirely discounted, but nails and screws in the tread of rear motorcycle tires are pretty common. Front tire not so much.

The working theory is that they get kicked up by the front tire and then “nail” the rear.

One such, a screw, which led to a flat on my KTM:

I think that scenario plays out way more often than vandalism.

Both times the nails were sticking directly upright in the middle of my back tyre. Both times I rode the bike, and the nails were driven into the tube and I got a slow puncture.

If that's true.......why do you 100% dismiss/argue against any rational explanation anyone gives you in here?

And that is a mundane everyday occurrence. I have had many such over years of driving/cycling. There is nothing strange about it. Everyone I know has had that happen.

I got punctures on the way to work twice, and I am 80% sure the nails were deliberately stuck in my tyre the night before, as I did not have a puncture when I got on the bike. It happened twice in a few weeks, and both times the nails were sticking directly up from the center of the tyre. But in all my previous years that had not happened. In any case the brake rod had been undone in the same period and there was no doubt about that.

I am bringing back post 348 for further consideration, as it is one of the reasons I am 80% sure telepathy exists.

I remember another experience that convinced me that esp exists.
I once had a friend that lived down the road, and one night I was very upset about something and I was having what might be described as a panic attack. I think it could have put me in a mental hospital that night if no one had helped me. But my friend sensed something was wrong with me, and he came running up the road. I did not answer the bell because I was too upset so he got the landlady to let him in and he came running in and said "are you alright". He then sat with me and talked me down. All I needed was a friend to talk to me and I was ok, and that is the only time it ever happened.
He did not make a habit of bursting in on me, and I did not make a habit of having a breakdown. So I have always remembered that incident as evidence to me that some people have esp.

When our next-door-but-one neighbours were having an extension built I had three of four punctures over the course of about a month and had to dig a couple out of the wife's car too and picked up nails beyond number from the road. Careless builders was all the explanation needed. I did get pretty good at fixing them though.

If someone wants to puncture car tyres they wedge the nails up against them at an angle so the weight of the car when it starts to move drives them in. Doesn't tend to work with bikes, they move around too much as you get on and start them plus they're much easier to see as you walk toward the bike, once the nails fallen over it's unlikely to go through the tyre of a bike at low speed and the path of the tyre contact area is much harder to predict on a driveway than that of a car. The chances of deliberately putting a nail through a bike tyre and not getting all and sundry as well are a lot lower than the chances a nail was picked up by chance.

Eta: of course someone puncturing a tyre isn't evidence for spirits anyway.

Out of how many trips to work total?

I have twice had two on the very same day, one of which was two nails/screws in the same tire the other two different tires. Was that a sheer coincidence? Of course it was.

On top of that, I have also had my tires slashed on purpose on two occasions. Do you know what they didn't use? Nails or screws. Nails/screws are simply FOD found on every road, everywhere. Oh and before you ask, nobody was out to get me. All the tires in the neighbourhood were done, and it occurred in two different neighbourhoods where I lived at different times.

As for your brake rod, vibration shook it loose. That happens all the time. A pal of mine change a tire due to a puncture once and failed to tighten the bolts correctly on the spare. The wheel came off. This is why we have torque wrenches and torque tables of settings for every nut and bolt.

Builders are a hazard all on their own, especially if they have a skip. Every chunk of junk flung in cause a hail of shrapnel.

Watch out for sidewall damage on tires, though. The only safe option there is replacement.

Also short nails/screws with a flat head will happily sit on the road pointy side up.

No, of course not, but Scorpion does claim to have schizophrenia. If true, that would be a symptom.
