Bigfoot: The Patterson Gimlin Film - Part 5

It was 50 years ago today that Roger Patterson (with Bob Gimlin) hoaxed a bigfoot film in Bluff Creek California.

Happy Anniversary to the PGF, and congratulations to ole Rog.

His effort is still fooling rubes a half century later.

Some Bigfooters celebrated Bob Gimlin's 86th Birthday, in Bluff Creek, and from all accounts he looks and acts like he could ride across that river on Bob Heironimous' horse with rifle held at the ready, and aim it at his friend in a Bigfoot suit today, just as he did in 1967.

 I've always given Roger Patterson credit for being a "made things happen" kind of guy. With his PGF ending up being way more than just a curious film clip that has far outlasted its presumptive lifespan. He surely wasn't stupid, but I bet he had no serious thoughts its legacy would be so alive and well 50 years later. For all intents and purposes he invented the three-dimensional Bigfoot as we know it with the PGF, he just didn't live long enough to see that.

Only those who attempt the absurd can achieve the impossible.” AE

 I wonder if he would have charged them extra to re-create the scene? And would there have been a premium if the rifle was loaded? On a jumpy short horse?

Bob and Roger made up roles to play
A PT Barnum-style sneaky plan
Stars a cowboy and a monkey-man
Don’t need to introduce to you
The phonies after all these years
Bob and Roger’s funky monkey scam.

Facebook is full of people posting pics and videos from the filmsite and surrounding towns.

Daniel Perez was leading one of the teams, but I thought he had the wrong film site, or is that someone else?

Major DRAMA at the 50th Anniversary party / conference!!!

Bob Gimlin leaves early, without speaking.

He says Tom Yamarone asked him not to speak.

Russell Acord says that they tried to make it NOT ABOUT BOB, and refused Bob's wishes not to be video taped, because he is making a feature film about the PGF and BobG.

Bob says "I got a little hot under the collar"
and apologized.

There is a major breach in Bigfootry happening right now.

So how old is Al De Atley? How long do you think we have to wait for his estate to produce the suit and the original of the film? Or are we waiting for Mrs Patterson?

Major DRAMA at the 50th Anniversary party / conference!!!

Soylent Green is Bigfoot!

Bob Gimlin leaves early, without speaking.

He says Tom Yamarone asked him not to speak.

Gimlin was scheduled to be the last lecturer. Yamarone was also scheduled to play guitar and sing. He is described on the roster as: Producer, Musician, and Stroke Survivor.

Russell Acord says that they tried to make it NOT ABOUT BOB,

Who is Acord? Who is "they"? Tried to make what not about Bob?

and refused Bob's wishes not to be video taped,

Gimlin told Acord not to film him during his lecture? Was Acord the only guy running a video camera there? Did Gimlin say "no filming" at the last minute?

because he is making a feature film about the PGF and BobG.

Who is making this film and why do they want no-Gimlin-filming at the conference?

Bob says "I got a little hot under the collar" and apologized.

Who did he apologize to?

There is a major breach in Bigfootry happening right now.

I'm not connecting all the dots. The audience might be disappointed and some may ask for full or partial refunds because the scheduled Gimlin lecture didn't happen. Is the major breach something bigger than the audience disappointment? If so, can you describe it?

...Yamarone was also scheduled to play guitar and sing. He is described on the roster as: Producer, Musician, and Stroke Survivor...
He's also big and ugly. And apparently not that good of a musician, his scheduled time is 4:00 to 4:15 on Friday. If you can only garner 15 minutes at a Bigfoot conference you're probably not gonna be...wait, stroke survivor? A big and ugly stroke survivor "asks" you to not do your talk even though you're the most famous actor in Bigfootdom and you're already scheduled to talk, and you take him seriously? They're all even bigger douches than we thought.

To be fair to Tom Yams, the man only knows 2 songs. Roger & Bob Rode Out That Day, and Gerry Crew.

Fifteen minutes would be more than enough time to showcase his music.

Hey Bob, got any new nuggets of information on the 50th anniversary of filming Patty the Bigfoot? Well yeah, I was told that the Bigfoot wanted to be filmed. She was there to be filmed. Let me add another thing. These really aren't creatures or apes - they are forest people. Don't go shooting them or killing them and don't run away screaming. Oh, and Patty is still alive because there is a guy who has talked to her son.

Carol Off: But they're so elusive, as you know, your film is considered to be one of the few times anyone can say that they think they saw Bigfoot. If it's so elusive, why do you think that that creature appeared to you that day?

Bob Gimlin: Well, one guy is deceased now, but he came up with the idea that she was there to be seen and filmed, and she wouldn't have been there wouldn't have been for me. And so who knows?

CO: This story just took a turn. Do you think that she knew you and she wanted to appear to you?

BG: Well, that's what I've been told. I had no idea. But, anyway, if that's what it is, I'm hoping that I'm sending a message.

CO: So you think that she appeared to you in order to speak to you? To give you some kind of a message to take to the world?

BG: This is what it is the film footage. And no one has ever even come close to… well, they say it could be a man in a suit, but they've never ever proved anything. And it's been to the Russian scientists, it’s been over the world to different sciences...

 So for Yamarone (a "musician") the 15 minutes is so much time that he could do his entire set, pack up all his **** and still have time for a 10 minute Music Theory Q&A session whilst pretending to read a book smoking a cigar?!

I guess this is the trailer for the Bob Gimlin movie.

It's such a cult of personality celluloid. They praise and worship the one guy who, simply, has film of his supposed Bigfoot encounter. Though according to him the film was just a pesky bonus, he seen what he seen. So how come nobody else who claims to have had the exact same kind of encounter as BG isn't being worshiped also? Oh right, no film. Which I read as "Bigfoot only exists on film."

WHEW! We were worried. Finally "some guy" got in touch with her son. About time, even though I never knew she was pregnant. What's his name, Silly Cybin Patterson? And who's his father, a mysterious hairy drifter named Parvey Meinstein?

My responses are just from what I remember reading on a facebook page full of horrified Bigfooters.

Who is Acord? Who is "they"? Tried to make what not about Bob?

I think Russell Acord is acting as Bob's agent in the Bigfoot world.
I believe the former 'gimlin guard' has been shoved aside, they are very upset that Acord is controlling Gimlin.

They are spreading rumors that Acord is taking 80% of Gimlin's honorariums. They are starting a hashtag called #FreeBob
There is much butthurt in Bigfootry this day.
They told Bob he can't speak at the conference.

Gimlin told Acord not to film him during his lecture? Was Acord the only guy running a video camera there? Did Gimlin say "no filming" at the last minute?

No: Acord demanded that the conference attendees NOT video tape, Bog Gimlin was on board with this. There is a movie being made about Bob and the film, NOT the documentary that Acord produced last year, but an actual feature film. There is a lot of time and money being invested in the film and videos are not allowed, still photos are fine though, according to Acord and Gimlin.

Who is making this film and why do they want no-Gimlin-filming at the conference?
See above

Who did he apologize to?
BobG said something like, I might have gotten a little hot under the collar, and I sincerely apologize because that's not in my nature. Or something like that.

I'm not connecting all the dots. The audience might be disappointed and some may ask for full or partial refunds because the scheduled Gimlin lecture didn't happen. Is the major breach something bigger than the audience disappointment? If so, can you describe it?

I don't know if it's about missing the speech, or if it's about HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT THE GIMLIN!!. According to Acord, Gimlin wasn't even paid when he left which is unheard of with regards to honorariums.

The organizer of the event posted that they were being rushed out by the venue to prepare for an event the next day, and since the conference had run long, they had to cut Gimlin out.

SIDENOTE:
Some have suggested that maybe they don't want Gimlin talking because he has been slipping up lately.

Saying things like, I gave Roger my death bed promise that I wouldn't say anything, and things like that.

All of his analogies and jokes are wrong now too, In the live video I saw, he said "I got slammed harder than a hurricane in a **** house door"

instead of 'slammed harder than a **** house door in a hurricane'

International Bigfoot Conference Films™? There's more than a bit of understated stupidity in thinking a film about Bob Gimlin would be interesting to anyone. Between the day of filming and now, what has he done that deserves a film? Worked as a ditch digger for DeAtley? Sounds more like this Acord guy just has a thick head. The actual interesting guy died a long time ago. :eye-poppi

You guys can make your jokes, but if you notice at the end of the trailer, the film has already been awarded "4 Stars" by the IBC.

It's not like the IBC just hands out those ratings either.

Laugh all you want, but all will be revealed shortly.

Hi everyone, I was being very careful with things before bring this here but I am now informing you that the subject in the Patterson Gimlin Film is a real female Sasquatch . . .
I'm working out how to present this in the best way possible so everyone can follow the process and understand how things came about. Be patient- it's been 50 years so a few more minutes or an hour or so shouldn't matter. Talk soon, I promise.
