Cont: The Trump Presidency Part III

Clearly, God is expressing his displeasure with states that voted for Trump. And apparently with Alabamans who voted for Roy Moore in the primary.

We are seeing the results of the damage Trump is causing the United States and to its credibility worldwide. Trump is a moron and unfit to occupy the White House as president.

This decision was a real downer for me. Worse than almost all others, except maybe his nomination of Pruitt. If he follows through, he's putting a match to the whole Middle East, if not the world.
If the US breaks the deal I doubt it'll have much practical impact in the Middle East (which is, let's face it, well alight already). It will serve to further marginalise the US, there and in the world generally.

If Congress reimposes sanctions it will only harm US businesses.

If Trump takes agressive action against Iran then yeah, big badda-boom. That would be the storm before the shitestorm.

Already posted in the health care reform thread, but it's yet another example of Trump pandering to his base:

Trump rolls back access to free birth control

This is a pathetic display even by Trump standards and a reminder he is doing real damage every day he remains in office.

Trump is pandering towards the only sizable part of the electorate that seems willing to stick with him no matter if he raped and murdered someone in the white house on live television. It's important for evangelicals and catholic extremists to keep the working poor burdened with as many children as possible.

Bash women for being outside of the kitchen and having sex outside of marriage, let alone murdering an innocent child (while they themselves fornicate relentlessly and pressure their partners into having abortions left and right). Bash gays and sexual minorities for being out of the closet and not hidden away or preferably righteously imprisoned for their unnatural acts (even as they engage in gay sex because they can afford to do so discretely and without being persecuted for it even if it happens to be illegal).

Are you suggesting the religious right could be compared to a group of:

"Only one thing will work" in dealing with North Korea after years of talks with Pyongyang brought no results, US President Donald Trump has warned.
"Presidents and their administrations have been talking to North Korea for 25 years," he tweeted, adding that this "hasn't worked".

Mr Trump did not elaborate further.

Teasers and cliffhangers work on reality TV shows - I'm not convinced that they are similarly effective in international diplomacy....

It looks like he has no idea what to do about North Korea but wants to give the impression that he does. Eventually it'll become clear to most people that he hasn't a clue.

Trump’s “You’ll find out” regarding the meaning of his “calm before the storm” comment is especially infuriating. And it’s hardly the first time he’s used this method.

He still seems to see himself as the boss in a Reality TV show. He’s not. He is an elected official that works for the citizens of the US, and is accountable to them. As such, this sort of coy guessing game is totally inappropriate. Of course, there are matters of national security where the president cannot be totally forthcoming. But even there he owes the citizens an explanation of the meaning of his statements.

Like I said, infuriating.

Yet, of all his faults, this is one that perhaps most appeals to his base: talking down in superiority from the holy mountain top to unwashed sinner liberals and satanic media traitors. "One truth, one leader, one race. Mercan 'Mockracy."

Trump is whining that he and Republicans aren't getting equal time in the media......

I agree that they should get equal time to liberals, but that would mean cutting back the time Republicans and he get because conservatives own most of the news outlets and 90% of the radio news.

And it turns out to be nothing more often than not, so we don't even know if ti's significant.

This plus he imagines that he knows what to do.

Then as the truth gets closer to his consciousness (ie denial gets harder) he shifts to some other crap like his announcement that Iran is not complying with the intent of the nuclear deal.

Being the butt of late night comedy jokes is getting under his thin skin.
