Cont: The Trump Presidency Part III

Yep, everything has to be an episode/season ending cliffhanger

Though in truth it may also be that they have no fricking idea what the policy will be until President Trump's next Twitter spat :(

Both, maybe? This guy treats the Presidency like some sort of game. It's dangerous. What he said last night means that both our allies and enemies are sitting around trying to figure out what the **** just happened. Dangerous! Sad!

Carmen Yulin Cruz', who once described herself as a 'pitirre' (a Gray Kingbird who fights bigger birds) held an interview yesterday which is sure to have Trump sending more angry tweets, while NBC reports about Trump's anger with Tillerson.

It all makes for a more irritated Trump, gradually alienating more people.

I'd really like to be a fly on the golf cart when someone eventually insists that he plays it as it lies.

He's also asking for the options for the next war/s from his Generals right now. I wonder which one he picks. America has the finest military in the world. What could go wrong.

He fires them when the hastily planned, badly thought out war goes badly for him, and them takes personal charge?

It could be just bluster but North Korea could take it as a prelude to war. A real president would understand that.

Even if NK didn't actually interpret it that way, they could use it that way for their own purpose. The same can be said for Iran.

I cannot see how this kind of behaviour can have any kind of positive diplomatic effect. Anyone want to guess?

It has a benefit if your goal is to undermine the SECSTATE. Trump may be flirting with war just to undermine Tillerson who is trying to prevent it. Apparently he knew about the Moron comment soon after Tillerson made it. Trump called it fake news but Nurse Ratchet didn't bother denying it.

Taking the position that Trump is a master-strategist for a second (snigger), one might assume this is a calculated gambit to get the entire news-cycle dedicated to how crazy he is, instead of focusing on Puerto Rico, the Las Vegas shooting or other, more important, domestic stories.

Seems to have worked.

[Trump Apologist]Only Nixon could go to China, only Trump can threaten Iran and North Korea with nuclear war.

They will look into his eyes (metaphorically) and see a potent mixture of steely resolve and plumb-crazy and have no alternative to back down meekly, not only yielding their position but losing face AND getting bad ratings.[/Trump Apologist]

In the real world the issue is that they may think it's empty bluster, press on, and then one day Trump just issues an order out of sheer frustration and/or impulse.

It would be a very elaborate attempt at misdirection. Usually he does this with his simple quickfire fake-news tweets or a retweet of some daft image that riles up the left.

Valid. I wouldn't put that past him, with that news coming to light now.
So possibly just positive from Trump's viewpoint, but not in any other way.

Has The Donald's hair gone white, or did he stop showering in Cheetos dust?

It's completely normal for the president to go grey in office, startling so sometimes. But not in eight or nine months. :boggled:
