Anyways, I only had about 20 second to look for the audio link, and gave up after being bombarded by clickbait. I'll probably try and give it a listen later.

I did a bit of searching, on that site and others, and didn't find any audio.

What I did find were descriptions of the chats. Basically, some of the folks in the chat rooms were planning for getting attacked, and then retaliating. Meanwhile, the organizers of the march were telling everyone to not be violent. At least, that's what the articles said. I don't think Wired is an alt-right site, so that's probably what was there.

There is absolutely no doubt that people on the right were hoping for violence. As were people on the left. A fairly high percentage of the alt-righters were expecting, and presumably hoping for, violence. A fairly small percentage of the lefties were doing the same.

I'm sure it must seem strange that I appear to be defending Nazis, but what I'm doing shouldn't be mistaken for that. I am, however, attacking Antifa. Those folks scare me.

Wow. You can just go to any crowded park on a weekend and find large and violent neo-nazi groups terrorizing the neighbourhood? I had no idea things were that bad in America.

Just so everyone is clear: A Nazi is the guy waving a Nazi flag and chanting Nazi slogans. A white nationalist is the guy marching alongside the Nazi while he does all that.

I don't think anybody on the alt-right wanted and hoped for violence. I think 100% of them expected there to be violence. Every since Milo in Berkeley, the organizers of any right wing event know that the ANTIFA will show up with their masks and clubs and guns and flamethrowers and try to shut it down. They used to be able to count on the police to keep the peace but we now know that the Police side with the ANTIFA so the right must come prepared for self-defense.

Not sure if I agree here! First of all, the Nazis (the real historic ones, not the Neo-Nazis), we not too fond of nonviolence and freedom of speech, and the neo-Nazis are kinda using them as role models. Most likely the reason, they're not being violent is that they are not organized enough yet.
