Ed Dueling protests spark state of emergency in Virginia.

Stop playing Bob's game people. That's his angle in every discussion. He acts like evidence that events are linked to motives isn't a thing because they can't be "proven" to his satisfaction.

Oddly this standard only seems to apply to his opponent's arguments and not his own.

You could not prove that Water is Wet by Bob's standred of proof...

Of course it wasn't sincere. No one who has to be talked into denouncing murderous Nazis is going to do it with anything approaching sincerity. But even an insincere, half-hearted condemnation is better than the mealy-mouthed license he had been providing.

I have to disagree. His White Power Ranger supporters know that today's statement was made for strictly political reasons, and think that they still have Donnie's wink and nod at their actions.
I am through giving Donald any credit, period. I gave him a chance after he was elected ,but that is long past.

Joke going around

Why did Trump wait 48 hours to denounce Nazis and the Klan?
Because Putin is on vacation, and Donnie could
not get in touch......

Are you really that dense, or are you looking for any excuse to let Trumpy off the hook.
Uncalled for.
No, I'd say its completely called for.

By every measure, Trump has failed at dealing with recent white nationalist events. He cultivated racist support both before and after the election, has engaged in divisive politics, and failed to properly categorize the events of last Saturday.

You suggested Trump should be given 'credit' for finally making a statement (one that is seen as "too little too late".) Nobody should get 'credit' for doing the bare minimum over a day after they should have responded, and suggestion that Drumph should receive such acknowledgement is questionable.

I wonder if your average McDonald's employee would get 'credit' if they only half cooked a hamburger and offered it to the customer hours after it was ordered.

How has he cultivated racist support both before and after the election?
Name a recent Presidential candidate that hasn't "engaged in divisive politics."
Why is it Trump's responsibility to immediately "categorize the events of last Saturday"?

As I said upthread, you seem to be placing a unique set of requirements on Trump.

And calling Fast Eddie B "dense" is certainly not called for. He's one of the more respectful posters on here and his positions are always very considered, even though I don't always agree with them.

And yet [knowing the name of your home town] was enough to find something pointing out the holier-than-you attitude of your post.

No, it was not, as you failed to point out anything evil that this particular communal clerk supported by being a "lackey", many degrees removed, of Napoleon. Bad equivocation is bad.

The alt-right continue to have a bit of a meltdown. All the better, if there's one thing better than punching a nazi it's getting them to punch each other :)

God, Trump could could do or say just about anything and you would defend or make excuses for him. Just like a true Trump Lover.

Why should the official statements of the president of the United States of America not be a serious issue?

Why would they be? I mean, I get how statements like "let's kill all the antifa!" or something could be a serious issue, but all this is obsessing over some fairly vague statements and interpretations thereof.

If we think he's with the Nazis, and the Nazis think he's with the Nazis, there really are just two possibilities. Either he's so poor at communicating that he ought to be nowhere near any position where communication is essential, or he's with the friggin' Nazis.

Yea he needs to go back to attacking real enemies of the presidency, not these nazi and klansmen, but Nordstroms. Department stores are the true enemy of the people.

Exactly. Now the apologists can point to it and say, "See? He's not so bad. He came back and said the right thing.".

As we are seeing right here in this thread.

Apparently people are truly obsessed about what Trump says or doesn't say, it's bizarre really.

Yeah, he's just the president of the *********** USA. Why would anyone care what he says? As you say, bizzare.

First we were told to ignore his tweets, and now we are told to ignore what he says. What's next?

Because it still doesn't mean you can expect anything intelligent or interesting to come out of him, so why would you care?
