Oh, gawd. TBD is gonna start another thread. First Reddit doxxes the murderer (how dare they?), now social media has doxxed a racist **** who wants to convince people that he's not really a racist **** in spite of him being on camera with a bunch of other racist ***** shouting racist ****.

While I have no moral qualm with outting and identifying the people involved in the riots (Real life is not an internet board, you can't be doxxed only identified as far as I'm concerned) I do hope people are really, really careful about stuff like this.

Did you know the previous owner of the Dodge Charger used in the hit and run is getting death threats, even after the guy who was actually involved in the incident has been arrested because a bunch of internet detectives took it upon themselves to look up the license plate and a bunch of the publically available records online still had his name and address on them?

That and the stunt that Reddit pulled after the Boston Marathon Bombings sours me on this. One mistake, no matter how well intentioned and how quickly corrected can ruin someone's live.

He's been doxxed by his classmates and is defending himself as "not that sort of guy in spite of what you see'. The little **** traveled from Reno to UVA to take part in this!

Agreed. Online sleuths can be dangerous.

I documented for the future that I disagreed with you, so when it comes up, I can say I disagreed with you.

Of course I can tell someone what to think. I just don't expect you to.

This one case seems legit, I was speaking more broadly.

Right now there's a 58 year old Vice President of Business Management at a Medical Center outside of Detroit who is under police protection along with his adult son because a bunch of internet jag-offs spread the word that one of them was the perpetrator... because back in 2012 he traded in the Dodge Charger used in the attack to a dealership and a bunch of wanna be do-gooders who don't realize how the internet works (stuff doesn't disappear and stuff doesn't always get updated) took it upon themselves to track down the vehicle information and some of the publicly available stuff still had his name on it.

And the closet white supremacists may see more of their kindred spirits being socially accepted. President Trump really needs to denounce these un-American neos, and sincere Republicans need to reject them from rallys. That they do not is very telling, IMO.

Government denunciation of counter revolutionaries and disruptive elements is something Trump can learn from Kim Jong Un

I agree about "internet sleuths" - or "those pesky kids" as we used to call the feeble efforts of 911 Truthers.

If the person in the next cubicle to me at work was anonymously posting propaganda or was using his lunch hour to spit on women going into Planned Parenthood? I'd out him. And I expect news organizations to out them, too.

Idiots on the internet playing sleuth? I wish any site that has them would ban them. Anyone recall the Vic-Sims morons? They used poor facial recognition programs to browse through yearbooks and posted their delusional conclusions.

Sorry, but I cannot sign on to support the Antifa as long as they welcome the Anarchists and the Hard Line Marxist.Just because Hitler was Evil does not mean I have to become a Stalinist.

I guess on that basis you wouldn't have signed on to support the Allies in WW2 either, since, like, they really did welcome Stalin!

Your viewpoint. I see it as I am the only true skeptic here. I'm open to either side downing the copter. I even mentioned an ax handle. Go look up "kkk ax handle" if you didn't see that as a hint that the KKK downed it.

Unless a video surfaces of somebody shooting at the chopper, I don't know how to prove it either way. If they recover a bullet form the wreckage, how are they going to tie it to a particular gun without a gun to compare?

Perhaps the fed DOJ under Trump will look into the cops herding the KKK towards Antifa? I think I read that on the first page of this thread, didn't I? That is just as culpable as what the cops did in Ferguson. Cops "inciting to riot"?

Here in lies the problem with you claiming to be the only skeptical one... why are you making the assumption that a chopper crash 7 miles from the protests was the result of either side "bringing it down" rather than the far more likely situation that it was caused by mechanical failure?

Seems like almost all of my liberal/progressive friends are now enthusiastically discussing censorship and other clamp downs on free speech.

I think it's time to get my passport in order.

Them: "Hate speech is not free speech and deserves no protection"

Me: "Who decides which speech is hate speech?"

Them: "Oh, so you're a Nazi sympathizer, now?"

I guess it depends on what the hate speech is doing. If it is inciting violence, then it does not deserve protection.

This is a steaming load of deplorable bull crap.

First off, you're not a mind reader. You don't know what these people feel. But more importantly, it's painfully obvious that "white nationalism" is the new face of the worst sort of nazi-sympathetic racism, and your defense of this bare naked scum speaks volumes.
First off, you're not a mindreader either. Obviously there are some white nationalists who are also white supremacists. Just like there are some Zionists who think that gentiles should and will be slaves to the Jews. You appear to think that Nationalism is inherently racist. That just means that you need to learn what Nationalism is really about. Or maybe you think that everybody who believes that Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state is bare naked scum that needs to be beaten down whenever they try to exercise their rights to free speech. I'll defend you're right to spew your vile philosophy even if I don't agree with it but I will not defend you're right to physically harm speakers you don't agree with.

What is this "white nation" of which you speak if not inherently white supremacist ?

Wow, a white nationalist that is trying to convince a forum of skeptics that it isn't about white supremacy. All he is missing is an "I have black friends" anecdote.

I get if you are a patriot. But these United State of America are not white, so you can not be a white nationalist when it comes to these United State of America, unless you can show where in the constitution it says that these United State of America are for only whites. It is that simple, so either you change the constitution or you overthrow it.

Exactly. It's the principle of you cannot shout "FIRE" in a crowded theater and then not be held responsible for ensuing panic and injuries simply because you have "freedom of speech". I haven't read everything about the entirety of the incident, but from what I have read, the ones shouting hateful things were the ones who instigated the initial injuries to the counterprotestors who were gathered peacefully as is their Constitutional right until the initial protestors surrounded them in what can only be called a menacing fashion, if one goes by the photos available. I cannot confirm this with 100% certainty, but I heard that possibly pepper spray was being used by the initial protestors on counterprotestors, and of course there was the avowed white nationalist who plowed into a group of people peacefully walking down the street the very next day, apparently deliberately. Given that, I tend to fall more on the line of "this is hate speech" due to the apparent deliberate injuries caused than I do "this is freedom of speech".
