New evidence for a planetary mass.

They are suggesting it's much smaller and closer to the Sun than previous estimates

This rules out the possibility that the postulated object in this case could be the hypothetical Planet Nine, whose existence has been suggested based on other observations. That planet is predicted to be much more massive (about 10 Earth masses) and much farther out at 500 to 700 AU

Given the different methods being used I wonder if the previous results are compatible or if we are even looking at the possibility of 2 different objects?

From the article:

"This object would be different from—and much closer than—the so-called Planet Nine, a planet whose existence yet awaits confirmation. "

I think it's a different and unrelated object.

If there are two such objects disturbing the Kuiper Belt discovered that suggests there are several other similar objects.

I’m not sure about that. If both exist, they are so different they’d probably have very different origins. This one sounds like a really big Kuiper belt object while Planet 9 would likely be more exotic.

You just know the forum will go bonkers if planet 9 is found and it turns out there really is a Planet X lurking out there too...

There are already 2 separate possible planetary masses being looked at ;)

The OP is referencing a proposed object with a mass slightly less than the Earth at ~60AU, but there is also a separate proposed 10X Earth mass object at 300 - 400 AU that has also been proposed.

Planet X is real! Lucky for Nasa, this forum has plenty of info on Planet X!
