Merged All things Trump + Russia

This list is in need of update. Here's the mounting evidence, additions in blue.

  • Trump flat out lied about his relationship with Putin
  • Trump flat out lied about his role in GOP platform concerning Ukraine
  • Manafort flat out lied about his/Trump role in GOP platform
  • Manafort flat out lied about his deep Russian relationships
  • Manafort received money from Russian contacts
  • Trump is pretending that Manafort was minimally involved in the campaign
  • Flynn received money from Russian contacts
  • Flynn flat out lied about his Russian contacts
  • Despite knowing that Flynn was under investigation for Russian (and Turkish) ties, and having been warned that Flynn was a serious security risk, Trump appointed Flynn NSA, fired him only when the facts went public, and continues to coddle him.
  • Trump lied by omission about Flynn's contacts
  • Sessions flat out lied about his Russian contacts
  • Carter Page flat out lied about his Russian contacts
  • Various campaign officials lied about Page's relationship with the campaign
  • Roger Stone flat out lied about his Russian contacts
  • Trump Jr acknowledged significant Russian money coming into the business, but Trump now denies
  • Trump openly encouraged Russia to hack Clinton
  • Trump fired Comey to impede the investigation, and bragged about it to the Russians
  • Kushner omitted meetings with Russians on his security clearance form
  • Don Trump Jr, along with Kushner and Manafort, met with a Russian operative for the purpose of obtaining dirt on Clinton. Don Jr lied about this meeting on multiple occasions. Kushner failed to disclose it on his security clearance form.
No sign of the wave breaking yet.

Donald Jr said straight up that he went to a meeting in the hope, if not expectation, of getting some dirt on Clinton from a foreign source that half an hour of Googling would reveal to be toxic. He may not have done so (he comes across as not being very bright) but surely Manafort or Kushner did.

Why not just refer her to FoxNews, creating an air-gap while promising the quid for the quo by an intermediary? Why be in the same room, with the apparent knowledge of quite a few gossipy people?

One can't write off ineptitude, but it would be an epic example.

This augurs very well. So far everything he's said has simply made things worse, and now they're really bad. It's anybody's guess how deep he'll dig the hole under questioning.

Born way beyond his natural pay-grade if you ask me.

I so bet they can, and do.
It'll make a good future episode for America's dumbest criminals. These guys are bumbling blunderers.

That twitter link above about Junior lawyering up had a funny comment...

"There's now more lawyers on the payroll then Under Secretaries."

:D

Once again, you do realise everybody can see that?

Of course, that's why you folks are so amusing. Constantly wrong, constantly sharing new "wisdoms" parroted from always the same pre$$titutes with the world, hoping that people have a short attention span or consume the same junk. 2017 is a hoot.

Well yeah, the best case scenario is that Trump attempted to and failed to collude with the Russians. That's assuming that you take Trump Jr. at his word and there's no reasons to do that. Trump and his surrogates come with a presumption of dishonesty. No one not affiliated with the Trump campaign can establish that nothing of substance was discussed. Absent third party confirmation, all you can do is assume an attempt to collude even if we can't establish that anything of value was exchanged.

Uh-huh. Yet another instance where you're fine with unnamed sources.

Forensicator?

Unnamed sources provided by named and known ideologues. The author's name should be recognizable to people who follow the idiot blogosphere. He writes for, ironically, Zero Hedge, a site whose masters are all anonymous. Didn't Craddick "break" the news (that he made up) of Obama's rushed flight to Hawaii to interfere with the courts on the Trump Immigration Block?

When the Kremlin Says ‘Adoptions,’ It Means ‘Sanctions’

This article explains the Magnitsky Act.

Kellyanne Conway kept repeating the word adoptions when she was
getting questioned by Jake Tapper today.

Hahahahaha!

Even if Trump Jr is too deaf and blind to know what is happening, ole
Manafort certainly knows that adoptions means sanctions.

White House veterans warn that such shifting statements could dangerously erode the White House’s already diminished credibility.

“What’s undeniable is that they’re burning their capital and doing so in two key places, both at home and perhaps more importantly on the international stage,” said Ned Price, who was a spokesman for the National Security Council in the Obama White House and worked for the CIA during George W. Bush’s presidency.

Differing accounts of meetings with a foreign adversary is nothing new, he noted — what is new is the American side’s lack of credibility.

“It used to be the case that Americans would assume the Russians were just lying,” he said, but after Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims about everything from mass voter fraud to illegal wiretapping, that credibility is in doubt. “You are left wondering which side is more credible, and it’s not only with regard to Russia.”

On the international stage, allies are left scratching their heads. At home, the political ramifications are clear: when Russia is in the headlines, actual governing becomes a good deal more difficult.

“There’s a general frustration with the lack of message discipline — that’s putting it lightly,” said one senior GOP Capitol Hill aide. “That’s just another distraction that keeps us from being able to break through” on legislative priorities such as health care and tax reform.

That's a huge understatement to be sure. I'm pretty sure just about any informed observer thinks twice about giving Donald Trump and his administration the benefit of the doubt when it comes to controversial statements or subject matter.

Of course Trump's supporters are going to argue that this is very biased and unfair. Just because he comes up with extreme yet easily disproven lies on a fairly regular basis doesn't mean we should hold him to account. He's the President of the US and we should give him the "respect" he deserves.

Not everything Trump, people in his administration or his campaign says is a lie or even misleading but you'd have to be outrageously gullible or acting in bad faith to trust them without first verifying what they are saying.
