And even if the meeting was about adoptions, said adoption program had been shut down by Putin in retaliation for the Magnitsky Act, which placed sanctions on various Russian officials. There was no way that that adoption program would get back on track, unless it also meant sanctions were being lifted.

As you might imagine, I find this preposterous.

In the universe I occupy, people on the hot seat who lie like there's no tomorrow do so because they're concealing something. Until now, I suspected we would never get rock solid evidence of collusion, because I would think it's achievable with a wink wink, nudge nudge. These clowns are so inept, now I'm not so sure about that.

Ultimately, I suspect it will have more to do with dirty Russian money coming into Trump's business, and Putin using it to his advantage.

In the universe I occupy, people on the hot seat who lie like there's no tomorrow do so because they're concealing something. Until now, I suspected we would never get rock solid evidence of collusion, because I would think it's achievable with a wink wink, nudge nudge. You have been fooled so often in the recent past, been so spectacularly wrong as a result, and never saw that those who lie are those who you allow to condition you with their mountains out of molehill junk, that there is little hope that that will change anytime soon. 1) Some web site that most people have probably never heard of,
2) quotes an individual who's name is not released (just noted as "The Forensicator"... I thought Trump was supposed to be against "anonymous sources")
3) who is basing the analysis on file timestamps (something that can easily be messed up, if files are copied/repacked/regenerated on computers with incorrect clock settings)
4) and who's analysis contains many statements about possibilities and how things COULD have been done (i.e. they produce no strong proof but only some vague guesses)

And you consider that to be some sort of proof that there was no Russian hacking.

While Congress and what passes for the Trump defence team are occupied with the collusion issue, Mueller and his forensicating accountants quietly prepare the killer case. The good old Capone Play.

If the Boesky case is anything to go by (and I think it is) Mueller will find people falling over each other to sell out their friends for a light sentence. My hope is that it spills over the Pond to London and all the dodgy Russian money in the property market there.
