Should have used "Atlas Shrugged" in hardbound. Best thing for it really.

In a way, this is the best outcome (other than not doing it at all). If he had lived, copycats might have tried it and more would have died.

The "Great American Idiot" (Idiotus Americanus) is not an endangered species. They are very fertile both in the wild and in captivity. Some will take this as a challenge and say "I know what they did wrong, let me show you."

She was not a responsible gun owner. She was an idiot. I'm 70 years old and I own several handguns and rifles and a shotgun or two. Never in my life have I personally done something this stupid with a firearm.

I teach gun safety and overall enjoy shooting targets like cans and plastic bottles and such. I don't hunt live animals. I just enjoy the shooting part of the experience.
 
I was curious about the penetrating power of certain handguns at one time, so I shot a 4-inch telephone book, IIRC. I had a 6" concrete slab behind as a back-stop.

A .40 S&W didn't penetrate the phone book. A .357 magnum penetrated the phone book, and blasted a chunk out of the concrete slab behind it.

No one injured

No, 911 was called immediately and the police took the two cameras which were still in position to film the event. She threw the gun on the ground and it was taken as well, of course.

Family says he was a gun enthusiast and had numerous. The Desert Eagle is gold and he can be seen holding it in pictures. I don't know if that's an expensive plating option or what.

Obviously someone can make it up -- they did.

As for giving credit ... maybe in some cases stupid imagination is all there is.

Lots of stupid people in Minnesota. After all, one district elected Michelle Bachmann to Congress four times.
