I read that the date on the fake cover coincided with the debut of Celebrity Apprentice. I wonder if it was originally an in-house artwork celebrating the new program and Trump liked it so much that he distributed it to his golf courses.

This is a guy that has a plaque at one of his courses commemorating a civil war battle that never happened. He also stole and modified his 'family crest'. This fits with his well established behavior of being a liar and a fraud.

I just heard a Trump spokesperson defend the chart below on CNN in these terms: "They only have to fear you." This was after repeating the -- pardon if I properly characterize it -- lying GOP lowlife slander that Obama was not respected around the world.

And those fiascos can be ascribed directly to the president’s lack of intellectual horsepower.

I wonder how many people on this very board would support the statement, "If Europeans dislike Trump, it means he's doing something right."

I have to suspect that such an attitude is a manifestation of a deep-rooted persecution complex. A bizarre need to be disliked by "them" as validation for one's own beliefs.

One of the reasons why people liked Dubya was his "folksy" charm, he seemed like a guy you could sit on a porch and chat with. He wasn't intellectually intimidating. Likewise with President Trump, he's a straight-talking New York businessman who shoots from the hip and doesn't pull his punches. The fact that he isn't an "ivory tower intellectual" who uses his intellectual superiority to browbeat others into submission just sweetens the deal ;)

I know... Trump, Dubya and to a certain extent even the sainted Ronnie were all people who were not noted for their intellectual ability. Indeed George W Bush and Ronald Reagan were regularly satirised here in the UK for their lack of intellectual capability. Looking at the elections since 1980....

Successful GOP candidates didn't need to be smart, they just needed to have something about them. Unsuccessful GOP candidates (Bush senior, Dole, McCain, Romney) seemed to be smart.

Successful Democratic candidates need to be charismatic but being smart is not a disqualifying characteristic. Unsuccessful candidates (Mondale, Dukakis, Gore, Kerry, Hillary) may be smart but they're a bit boring or unengaging.

I think he restrained his impulses well. He kept it to inappropriate words, not physical contact after all. This is a big step for trump.
