The Trump Presidency

The PDJT's deterioration reminds me of the increasingly frantic Jerry Lundegaard in the movie Fargo. I can just imagine it playing out like his final scene,
screaming and running about in his underwear as law enforcement captures him.

Is it possible Clarke is smart enough to see this is not the kind of ship an ambitious guy wants to serve on? No really.

Others are seen jumping off Trump's sinking ship as well.

Six Experts Resign From President’s HIV/AIDS Advisory Panel in Protest

Six members of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) resigned in protest of the Trump administration, which they allege "has no strategy to address the on-going HIV/AIDS epidemic."

I wonder how much this whole Trump nightmare is costing the US taxpayers. Here's another absurd expense we are paying for: The cost of Betsy DeVos’s security detail: $1 million per month
While the department is spending the additional money on DeVos’s security, members of the in-house security team that guarded previous secretaries remain on the payroll. But they are not guarding DeVos and have not been assigned new duties, according to a department employee who was not authorized to speak to a reporter and asked for anonymity.

And all because she was in fear of a handful of protestors.
Previous education secretaries have been protected by a team of department employees, many of whom were Secret Service veterans. That team was replaced by marshals on Feb. 13, a few days after DeVos encountered protesters who briefly blocked her from entering a District of Columbia middle school.
The money comes out of the Dept of Education budget.

Discovering that proles are real and not just mythic creatures talked about in books can be jarring. Think of trauma she must have endured being exposed to them.

I loved the image of TrumpCo arriving at Mar-a-lago. Barron lags behind a bit, turns around, and takes a selfie. He's the only one I kind of feel bad for in all of this.

Is that because, just like Donald, you forgot Tiffany existed?

Just what America needs, another war in the middle east.

A pair of top White House officials is pushing to broaden the war in Syria, viewing it as an opportunity to confront Iran and its proxy forces on the ground there, according to two sources familiar with the debate inside the Donald Trump administration.

Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence on the National Security Council, and Derek Harvey, the NSC’s top Middle East advisor, want the United States to start going on the offensive in southern Syria, where, in recent weeks, the U.S. military has taken a handful of defensive actions against Iranian-backed forces fighting in support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Their plans are making even traditional Iran hawks nervous, including Defense Secretary James Mattis, who has personally shot down their proposals more than once, the two sources said.

The situation in southern Syria has escalated in recent weeks, after a U.S. warplane shot down an Iranian-made drone that had attacked U.S. forces on patrol with Syrian allies near an American outpost at al-Tanf. The drone attack came after two U.S. airstrikes on Iranian-backed Shiite militias, which had moved too close to the Americans’ garrison.

President Bannon is back, BABY!

I read Megyn Kelly supposedly retaped her opening remarks for her interview with Alex Jones that aired tonight. Here's part of what she said:
The show spelled out the beliefs of Jones, the founder of "InfoWars," with Kelly, saying his views "aren't just offensive, they are dangerous. But here's the thing — he's not going away," said Kelly, who lives in Rye [NY]. "He has millions of listeners and the ear of the current president." "He just calls sometimes," Jones said. ."
She went on to say:
Kelly said Jones has a pattern of making "reckless accusations," which are then "followed by excuses." Link
Sound like someone we know? ;)
