Thank you. Although unlikely allies, I could believe Saudi Arabia and Israel cooperating in the spirit of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." I just hadn't heard it was happening.

The point of the OP was that
#1 the US military is roaming the world killing hundreds of thousands
#2 the US population is unaware and or unconcerned
#3 this is exactly as described in 1984, with the media's continuous vilification of the enemies of the state who are totally unknown to the population, and the government control of the historical record through propaganda and ultimately coercion.
The the focal point of the OP being the 26,000 bombs the US military dropped on the Muslims in 2016.
And, not one response expressed an iota of concern for the ultimately millions of victims of the US military in the last 25 years, instead we were told ...

How does anything happening in the middle east right now, or since 2002 benefit Israel? Would that be luring hundreds of thousands of jihadis to the region? Destabilizing Syria, Iraq, Turkey, and Yemen? The unchecked growth of Iranian influence?

Yeah that is pretty wild claim. I do remember that someone made some sort of claim like that by adding in all causes of death in ME and somehow blamed the US for it.
About a 150,000 people die each day world wide (55 million a year). They used that figure in some bizarre way to come up with a millions comment - that or some nut made it up.
I'm sure Saggy will provide us a report from a reliable and reputable source to confirm his claim......lol

I took a peek at the reference for that quote and it looks like Justice Stone had a problem with wars ending in a trial for the losing side's leaders. Google books doesn't have the full page. I'm prepared to be shocked if, in context, it reads as if it supports the argument made by codoh.

I believe this was due to the statements of Major-General Iona Timofeevich Nikitchenko. However I cannot find on the internet where he said that in
Mason, Alpheus T., Harlan Fiske Stone: Pillar of the Law, NY: Viking, 1956, p. 716
Once we can see that we can determine exactly what he was referring too as the Codoh extract of it is full of mysterious '.....' showing deletions of the text.
