We live in a infinite universe

You hint further in your post that you're aware of the existence of a scientific theory known as quantum mechanics, but at the same time you're surprised -- shocked, even -- by the implications of that theory. It's like you know about it but have never bothered to read up on it, which doesn't fit with your other claims of having many books on the topic.

Anyway, read up.

So what? That is simply saying that the universe may be in an unstable state. What has that to do with its origins?

Also, can you answer my question: What is 'the quantum substrate', how can it be measured and what are its properties? Being that you believe that everything arises from it I'm puzzled why you are unable to describe what it is.

I gave you a starting point. Don't complain.

Also, can you answer my question: What is 'the quantum substrate', how can it be measured and what are its properties?

I've already said that this isn't a technical term but my own phrasing. You can look up QM if you want. Educating you on the matter isn't exactly on topic.

Thought as much.

Thought as much.

Thought what, that I wouldn't go off-topic with a full education course?

What I've told you isn't new or my own idea. The fact is that the underlying reality of the universe is the quantum world. It's reasonable to conclude that it was 'built' from it.

And why do you need me to tell you these things? You have 40 books on the topic, right?

Plus we have a good grasp of what's making reality tick, and we know time only exists within the context of the universe; so it's not a stretch to conclude that whatever the universe sprang up from, for lack of better terms, is timeless.

Or has it's own time dimension.

Right, and that's how I know you are talking utter nonsense.

We live in a infinite universe. So our souls are eternal. Our universe just keeps getting better and better because it has no limits. The thing that makes everything have so much order is love. Love is the strongest force in the universe. So there is a God. God did a great job making this universe.

Things like love, sex, fiction, and technology happen because we live in a infinite universe. We get better technology with time, the universe gets better overall with time. The universe came from nothing. Nothingness is infinite. So that's how the universe is able to evolved to be better with time. Basically time condensed nothingness to become physical. The force of God takes all this randomness and puts it all in perfect order. Our lives are in perfect order for eternity.

You've been talking to Vroomfondle and Magicthighs again haven't you?

Right, and that's how I know you are talking utter nonsense.

You just can't off of your own behind and look it up, can you? How about you check out the current theories of how the universe came to be and what the 'cause' of the big bang could be, and the things that make it tick, and get back to me, rather than just be insulting for no reason.

Wow, talk about a non sequitur. How do you get from the premise to the conclusion?

I'm sure that explains the high rate of divorce.

Wait, wait. Again, how do you get from one to the other?

No, they happen because we live in a physical, causal universe. Infinity has nothing to do with this. Also, the universe isn't infinite.

No.

No, it's the exact opposite of infinite.

This signature is intended to irritate people.

It's simple. It's impossible for something to always have existed. So the universe came from nothing.
Wait! Your entire premise is that the universe is infinite. Infinite means it has no boundaries. The very concepts of Beginning and End are boundaries. If you say that something is infinite, it means that it has neither physical *nor* temporal boundaries.

IOW, your claim is that, among other things, the universe always existed, that it has neither beginning nor end.

If it has no beginning, the universe could not have come from Nothing because the universe has always existed and it is made of Something; therefore *Something always existed*. This, in turn, means that Nothing never existed, and the entire concept disappears in a grammatical double-negative whirlpool.

This signature is intended to irritate people.

Me insulting you for no reason? That's rich. You spend your time telling me I'm ignorant for questing a term you used, only for you to finally admit you made it up. Let's have a look at a few of your claims:

When I stated that virtual particles are created from nothing, you responded

They're not created from nothing. They're created from the quantum substrate.

So I say I've never heard of the 'quantum substrate' and ask what this quantum substrate is only for you to respond

I've already said that this isn't a technical term but my own phrasing.

In other words you made it up. It's something you picked up from a Hollywood sci-fi movie or something.

How about this?

Maybe you should check your physics too, then. Because that's definitely not what they're saying. When someone says "nothing" and they mean "quantum state", that's not "nothing". It's definitely "something".

Again, nonsense. A quantum state isn't a thing any more than 'hot' is a thing or '3.5Kg' is a thing. In the same way you don't have particles produced from 'hot' or from '3.5Kg', you don't have them appearing from 'the quantum state'. You probably meant 'quantum system' but that's barely an improvement, since it's simply an arbitrary volume used in an experiment. Or maybe you meant 'quantum foam' or whatever. Who knows.

I ask what the stability of the universe tells us about its origin, as you claim, you reply

I gave you a starting point. Don't complain.

And then you proceed to tell me I'm ignorant and I should 'get off my behind' and do the research. Astonishing.

Possibly, but that's something we'd have to assume beyond what we know, and it's not required, so I wouldn't include it in any theory.
saying it is timeless runs into the same issue though?
better to say that no one knows and not label it as anything.

timeless/different time dimension....we just don't know.

Yes the universe is infinite.
