Brilliant Light Power Going To Market - Free Energy Generator

After over 20 years Mills supporters like myself are quite used to the idea of a paradigm shift. ... And we're sober enough to know that the consequences of such a shift do not happen overnight.

It took a lot less than 20 years for new paradigms like Relativity and quantum mechanics to become accepted, yet after over 20 Mills "classical quantum mechanics" theory is only known of by a handful of physicists.

I realize the term "paradigm shift" has gotten a bit more into popular usage than originally, but I still would have thought that in order for a paradigm shift to occur something actually has to happen. You don't get a paradigm shift when you predict gods from outer space. You get it when they land.

So are you saying it was published on Scribd? :)

I can find it nowhere else.

<snip>

The last report describes calibration of a calorimeter. I didn't read enough to understand the full context of that, but it makes me wonder whether some "unusual" form of calorimetry is involved in other experiments that show anomalous heat.

Hmmm, it would seem that they either have problems setting up and calibrating the equipment, or understanding the output, or they fail to recognise the limitations of the equipment. That would seem to be a common thread running through their extraordinary claims.

As an example, we have:

Water bath calorimetric study of excess heat generation in “resonant transfer” plasmas
Phillips, J. et al (incl. Mills) (2004)
https://arxiv.org/ftp/physics/papers/0401/0401132.pdf

Both the current results and the earlier results are completely consistent with the existence of a hitherto unknown exothermic chemical reaction, such as that predicted by Mills, occurring in RT plasmas.

And, in reply:

Comment on “Water bath calorimetric study of excess heat generation in resonant transfer plasmas”
Phelps, A. V. (2005)
http://aip.scitation.org/doi/pdf/10.1063/1.2010616

It is argued that Phillips et al do not provide a convincing test of the model of energy generation proposed by Mills. Reference 1 relies on an undocumented calibration of microwave and calorimeter power measurements and on highly questionable interpretations of previous experiments by Mills and co-workers and Phillips and Chen. Most of these previous experiments can be explained using conventional electric discharge processes. For other previous experiments, we suggest extensions of conventional models and improved measurements. Many features of the models of Mills are inconsistent with experiments by others.

To which Phillips replied:

Response to “Comment on ‘Water bath calorimetric study of excess heat generation in resonant transfer plasmas’
Phillips, J. (2005)
http://aip.scitation.org/doi/pdf/10.1063/1.2010617

So, some other people do the work, and, for example, we have:

Hydrogen Balmer-α line broadening in a microwave plasma source
Tatarova, E. et al. (2007)
https://www.researchgate.net/profil...sma_source/links/02e7e5299f13263b21000000.pdf

Mills and collaborators reported results for excessive Hα line broadening detected in......However, a critical analysis of this model can be found in [3], while measurements of Hα line profiles emitted by microwave discharges with no excessive broadening are presented in [4]. Severe critical comments about Mills and coworkers’ experimental results have been presented in [5] and a reply to these comments was provided in [6]. As pointed out in [5] ‘Definitive explanation of Hα line broadening in microwave discharges requires better experiments and models’.

And, in their conclusions:

Emission spectroscopy was used for the diagnostic of a large-scale, slot-antenna excited microwave plasma source operating in helium–hydrogen and argon–hydrogen mixtures and in pure hydrogen at low-pressure conditions. No evidence was found for excessive broadening of the Hα line in He–H2 and Ar–H2 microwave plasmas.........These results can be explained by standard discharge processes like direct electron impact dissociation of H2 molecules, exothermic processes of recombination and ion conversion involving molecular H2+ and H3+ ions.

And then back to Phelps in 2010:

Collisional kinetics of non-uniform electric field, low-pressure, direct-current discharges in H2
Phelps, A. V. (2010)
https://arxiv.org/pdf/1011.1714.pdf

The few dc experiments of Mills et al [66] and Phillips et al [67] for pure H2 are not useful for quantitative testing of models of the source of fast H(n=3) atoms emitting far-wing Hα radiation. For example, the Hα profile of figure 14 of [68] was obtained at an unknown pressure and unknown position relative to the beginning of the negative glow. The best one can say is that this profile is qualitatively similar to the transverse profiles of figure 7(a) and figure 9(b). This author does not know of any discrepancies between the predictions of the present model and their qualitative experimental results for dc discharges in hydrogen. It is expected that an extension of an electric-field-based model will explain well-characterized measurements of Hα profiles in their rf discharge geometries, e.g., figure 9 of [69].

And;

This test shows that collisions between two or more particles created by the discharge are of little importance. Therefore, this result should put to rest claims by Mills, Phillips, and coworkers [66, 67] that the “excessively broadened” Hα emission from their dc discharges is a result of energy made available by collision of a dissociation product, e.g., an H atom and another excited atom or dissociation product.

So, in summary, Mills et al haven't got a clue what they are actually doing, or seeing. They already have their conclusions written before they even do their experiments, and all results will be retro-fitted to match that outcome. Nobody else is seeing what they are seeing.
So, who do you believe; the physicists, or the physician? I know who my money is on, and given 20+ years of failure from Mills, I'd say that that imaginary money is very safe.

I'm surprised that Thornhill & Talbott haven't started selling T-shirts with that emblazoned across the front!

Ohhh. I'll ping the Creationists about that. There's been talk of a fundraiser to hire someone to help them with marketing.

There is a small subset of the academic world that has validated Mills' findings. For the rest of the physical chemistry academic world, they either don't know about it, or are content to wait and see. You far overestimate the responsiveness of academia to external challenge and change. They are largely preoccupied with their own matters.

And where was the data, protocols, controls and results shown? How much energy in, how was it metered, how much heat out put, how was it measured?

BLP better take a good hard look at their site and purge what they need to purge NOW, because they're about to lose their current memory hole mechanism to avoid the WayBack Machine.

Internet Archive to ignore robots.txt directives

Robots (or spiders, or crawlers) are little computer programs that search engines use to scan and index websites. Robots.txt is a little file placed on webservers to tell search engines what they should and shouldn't index. The Internet Archive isn't a search engine, but has historically obeyed exclusion requests from robots.txt files. But it's changing its mind, because robots.txt is almost always crafted with search engines in mind and rarely reflects the intentions of domain owners when it comes to archiving.

I find it instructive to compare this thread to
the EM Drive.

The EM Drive is almost certainly not a scam. There are measurements, but they don't look above noise and I can't see how it doesn't violate conservation of momentum.

The behaviour of the proponents is significantly different.

Mills is operating in an almost entirely different context. Also, the waters have been poisoned since P&F. Universities don't want their reputation soiled.
Utter nonsense. Everywhere you look in BLP, from the big tome to the behaviour of its proponents like you, the whole thing is riddled with inconsistency from top to bottom. On the one hand you keep claiming that the existence of hydrinos and excess energy has been proven and documented by respectable scientists (although references are hard to come by), and on the other hand you excuse the fact that the field is generally not interested in attempting independent replications of Mills's claims because he is an obscure unknown.

As for the idea that academic scientists wouldn't jump on this in a feeding frenzy if there was anything in it becasue of "reputation", you obviously have no idea about what floats physicists' boats.

Haven't looked at the patent(s?), just responding to the mistaken idea that hydrino doesn't emit photons. May reply later on this as time permits.
If hydrinos emit photons then they can't be Dark Matter can they? More inconsistency. and if they do then they's be readily detected and we wouldn't be having this discussion about their (non-)existence.

But you were replying to a comment which made the point that a laser which can operate from the far-infrared to the ultraviolet using fractional states of hydrogen as a lasing medium, as claime in Mills's patent application, would require hydrinos to emit photons in those wavelengths. Then you claimed that hydrinos don't emit photons from electron energy level transitions but do from rovibrational transitions. More inconsistency because you aren't going to get visible and ultraviolet photons from rovibrational transitions of molecular hydrogen.

The whole thing is a mess.

A work of fiction

The reality is far more insidious.

BLP has been infiltrated by North Korean moles in order to continually scuttle efforts at commercialization. All the private and university scientists who've researched Hydrino tech have been kidnapped by North Korean agents. There's no real government traction in part because of Big Oil, Big Coal, and North Korean spies scuttling interest. Meanwhile, North Korea has realized the fusion potential of successively fused Hydrinos described here:

http://rvanspaa.freehostia.com/Hydrinos_explained.html

When Hydrogen shrinks to form a second level Hydrino (Hydrogen itself is considered to be the first level Hydrino), about 41 eV of energy is released. This is already about 16 times more than when Hydrogen and Oxygen combine to form water. And it gets better from there. If that newly formed Hydrino collides with another catalyst atom, and shrinks again, to the third level, then an additional 68 eV is released. This can go on for quite a way, and the amount gets bigger each time. Here is a table of some level numbers, and the energy released in dropping to that level from the previous level, IOW when you go from e.g. level 4 to level 5, 122 eV is released. (BTW larger level numbers represent smaller Hydrinos).

Level
Energy
2
41 eV
3
68 eV
4
95 eV
5
122 eV
6
150 eV
7
177 eV
8
204 eV
9
258 eV

For those of you with a mathematical bent, the formula is ((2 x n) -1) x 13.598 eV, where "n" is the level number.
(BTW the maximum level number is certainly no larger than 137, and may well be less than that, not least because when a Hydrino gets very small, it may undergo fusion reactions with other atoms.)
Of course, the numbers can be added up. IOW if you start with a Hydrogen atom, and end up with e.g. a level 5 Hydrino, then you get a total of 41 + 68 + 95 + 122 = 326 eV.
The total for any level can be calculated with the formula (n^2 -1) x 13.598 eV.

They're currently producing and stockpiling hydrinos on a massive scale in order to build hydrino fusion bombs, which are MUCH easier to fabricate than a conventional fusion or fission bomb. The end goal is to produce enough Hydrino fusion bombs to completely destroy Japan, erasing it from the face of the earth. This would be a show of force before demanding the immediate surrender of South Korea so it can be assimilated into "Best Korea."

Of course, they first need to manufacture enough Hydrino fusion bombs and missiles to wipe out Japan and South Korea. Current estimates put them at 60% to 65% towards the "minimum action count," but the plan is to build a buffer of extra missiles.

Things are slowed down by the hydrinos and resources diverted to the installation of Hydrino fusion bombs scattered throughout China and the United states, so North Korea can launch a crippling attack if the USA gets in the way of North Korea's plans for dominance. I'm told there was quite a bit of mirth at the news of Trump planning to keep his wife and youngest son in NYC, as there are already three separate bombs scattered throughout the city, any one of which can vaporize or topple Trump Tower.

Estimates among those in the know vary, but there's a better than 80% chance North Korea will light that fuse before the next US POTUS election.

What? It's as realistic as anything markie is claiming.
