Brilliant Light Power Going To Market - Free Energy Generator

Not open for further replies.
And at higher temperatures, there is even more waste in the infrared. You understand that increasing the temperature only increases the amount of light emitted at *every* wavelength, right? Even the wavelengths incompatible with the solar cells?

It's as if Mills is just slapping on technologies and terms to play "Marketing Buzzword Bingo" and not build a real product.

People have been turning heat into electricity for a long time. There's a reason no one is doing it by turning that heat into light and collecting it with solar cells.

Nobody. As I've said before, Mills optimism gets the better of him. The prototypes were working. That does not mean they were ready for prime time. Mills thought they would be, but was mistaken. The power density could not be maintained with that solid fuel cell.

Seriously?

You're seriously whitewashing that debacle as "enthusiasm?"

http://money.cnn.com/2008/07/01/smallbusiness/blacklight.fsb/

"This is no longer an academic argument," Mills, 50, insists. "It's proven technology, and we're going to commercialize it as quickly as possible."
...
The working models in his lab generate 50 kilowatts of electricity - enough to power six or seven houses.
While the company's followers already extol the high-energy, green, and thrifty virtues of BlackLight's technology, the rest of the world will have to wait for evidence until the fall of 2009, when the business promises to install its cells in power plants. Whether or not Mills' team meets that deadline will likely determine how BlackLight goes down in history - as a revolutionary startup or a flop 19-years in the making

Even IF we concede Mill was just "enthusiastic" we're left with a man who WENT TO CNN and gave an interview where he claimed to be ready to go into production AT LEAST a decade prematurely. That's the best case scenario.

The simple fact of the matter is, you can't trust what Mills says about pending commercialization. You can't sit there whitewashing MULTIPLE failed promises of impending commercialization that span DECADES and still expect anyone to take him seriously. Even IF the Mills theories have a basis in reality, he's too erratic and ferret-brained to bring any of his technology to market. Mills will NEVER manufacture a Hydrino based generator. It's a shame you're too blinded by blind faith in Mills to see that.

This looks like a marvelous way of melting or burning lots of photovoltaic cells, given the observations of large amounts of heat being generated. This in turn provides the next illogical excuse for lack of progress: "o noes! The commercially available cells can't handle the increibleness of ny device. Please send money so that I can create *special* cells."

Meanwhile, I have created a better device by enclosing a log fire with IR tuned photovoltaic cells...

Hang on, I was meant to create steam. Or was I? Pass the kettle, please.

Where was their research published?

On a crumpled A4 on public display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying, "Beware of the Leopard." No idea why the Nobel committee haven't handed out gongs yet.

Yes and it always 'two years in the future'. While at the same it is 'ready' or 'working'.

Yep. Love to hear this. I'm happy to look it up. Just give me a doi number, or the title of the peer reviewed paper. Let's see this validation, please.

ETA: [sarcasm]This is, as somebody else said, Nobel Prize winning stuff. So where is it? I am desperate to see this life changing validation. Please, please, please, show me where it is. I beg you.[/sarcasm]

They have posted a couple redacted studies that absolutely do NOT verify and validate the existence of hydrinos. All they do at most is claim a few anomalous readings:rolleyes: just prior to the flash bulbs Mills invented burning out.

Not even the most basic attempt to determine other potential sources of the so called "anomalous" readings:rolleyes: was even attempted as far as I can see.

Being redacted I can't say for certain what attempt was made to explain it, but in NO WAY by any means is it anything even remotely similar to verifying hydrinos.

What one of the links they gave us did have was a picture of a massively melted unit containing a huge jagged hole. The best description I can give would be hitting the thing with a Star Trek Phaser.

Pretty sure that unit will never run again. I often wonder if maybe that's what also happened to the other 20 working prototypes Mills supposedly made?

The "redacted" part of the links to PDFs on the BLP web site is probably that Mills edited the reports to remove what he thinks is sensitive information. But we have no way of knowing what other edits were done. For example one PDF references his obviously ignorant and deluded book. This is not something a competent or knowledgeable scientist would do.

OK, RC, who has accused him of being either competent or knowledgable? :)

This is as good a post as any to quote; there are quite a few others I could have used just as well.

If by consultants you mean scientists from universities, yes. And yes, they have verified and validated the existence of hydrinos.
I read some of the posts and comments on other threads/sites cited here. A fairly common idea expressed by Mills fans is that the "theory" and hydrinos are the real deal, that Mills has made a breakthrough in physics at least as profound as anything Einstein did, etc. And that there are many independent scientists who have validated Mills' work. Etc.

Somewhere upthread I posted what I found re the coauthors of the various papers, and those of the four investigations ms posted in the OP. It seems that, altogether, there are dozens of people with both the relevant experience and understanding of physics to truly appreciate just how revolutionary Mills' ideas are, and how dramatic the changes to physics would be if hydrinos (per Mills) were real.

And most of these dozens have known this for many years. They know that there's at least a Nobel in this, not to mention a great deal of fame of fortune. Many know very well how to conduct independent experiments which would prove the existence of hydrinos, and have the access to facilities and or funds to perform such experiments. Yet none have done any such thing(s)!

Not to mention that there are, likely, thousands of others, equally capable and competent, who have read enough of the papers, the book(s), etc to have done their own independent checking. And if they found revolutionary new physics, at least some would surely have set the wheels in motion to get some fame and fortune for themselves.

And I'm not even going to mention commercial, defense, and other folks who like to keep things quiet.

You see where this is going, right? The similarities with conspiracy theories and cults like "the Electric Universe".

I guess I'll end with a question for markie: you've been a fan for over a decade, and know very well what Mills papers, books, etc say. You also know, or could easily confirm, the capabilities and competence of the of the coauthors etc. And you know that not one of them has independently confirmed the existence of hydrinos (etc). Not to mention doing things that will bring them great fame and fortune. Does this concern you at all? Are you puzzled by it?

It's even worse than that. markie said he's been following this for about 18 years now, which is more than enough time for him to have gone to University, gotten a BS/MS/PhD in whatever he thought would be a relevant field, and done his own damn studies to prove that hydrinos are real, and that they can be used to produce useful amounts of heat and/or electricity.

And yet, he hasn't done that.

Pretty sure RC was accusing the so called independent scientist verifying Mills claims as being more of a paid lackey.
I presumed that the scientists Mills hired were competent and knowledgeable. They would not cite non-scientific literature. They would see that Mills book is crank literature. So it is more probable that Mills added the reference.

It seems according to SEC filings that BLP raised c $10 million last summer to pursue the cPV route to market.

I'm wondering what they are actually spending the cash on, as the prototypes we've seen don't seem that sophisticated, complex or expensive.
