Cleveland Facebook Killer

This whole narcissistic Youtube/Facebook culture is really slamming home the fact that we are just animals in clothes, and actually pretty bad animals at that, say compared to dogs. Or any other animal.

If I wasn't human I would call for our eradication. Maybe all primates.

Not a boomer but ya I remember a different world 35 years ago or so. I blame parents. Parenting is a dying art.

Trying not to stereotype you but with this kind of stereotypical but not valid assertion, it's hard.

Are you sure about that? I saw the news media version of the video and the shooter confronted the old man and shot seconds later. I didn't hear him ask the old man for anything.

He did. He said the old guy was being killed because of her, and got him to say her name. "Can you do me a favour? Can you say Joy Lane?... She's the reason why all this is going to happen to you." The media version cuts off and the full version shows him shoot the guy in the head through the bag he's held up, pan away, then pan back to show the old guy up against the fence and the pavement drenched in blood and brain.

This guy is a walking opportunity to use those expired drugs they bought in Arkansas.

The portrait emerging of Steve Stephens is of a deeply troubled guy whose world was closing in on him. He had a good side, he reportedly mentored kids, and a brutal side, he reportedly tortured animals when he was a teen.
Stephens was recently evicted from an apartment in Euclid and faced another eviction at a separate apartment in Warrensville Heights five months prior, according to court records obtained by the Cleveland Plain-Dealer on Monday. The documents shed light on Stephens’ massive financial troubles.

In another Facebook posting Sunday, Stephens said he gambled his money away at Jack Cleveland Casino and said he “lost everything” and that he was “out of options.” News link

Police continue to be unable to locate Stephens but it appears there are no further victims. There is speculation that Stephens may already be dead somewhere, having taken his own life. I think there is also a fear that, if and when police find him he is liable to try and shoot it out.

I agree completely with this.

By the weekend, the name "Stephens" will be on everyone's lips, whether he's caught or not.

But everyone who reads these kinds of reports can help change that by referring to him in much less desirable terms.

Instead of 'deranged killer Stephens" we can call him "Little Stevie" or just "Facebook's own S. Wimpybutt".

Take the badass out of being bad.

I like "fecesmouthed mommyraper!!!!!"!! Or "urine soaked squeebaby!!"!!!

Injection of diluted (not much though) sulphuric or nitric acid more educational.

The human being is the only animal who can behave like a beast... :(

That was his job, it doesn't indicate a good side. If I were the authorities I'd look at what he was actually doing with these kids. By all accounts Stephens was a sex pest and animal abuser who progressed, like many of his kind, to gratuitous violence and murder.

The article deadrose linked to says-
Steve Stephens, the man wanted for killing a 74-year-old man and uploading the video to Facebook Easter Sunday, has been found dead inside a car in Erie, Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania State Police have confirmed Stephens' identity. According to GoErie.com, he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a white Ford Fusion near Buffalo and Downing Avenue just after 11 a.m. Tuesday. previous link

He did make it as far as Erie PA, where Cleveland police had earlier reported his cell phone had indicated he was. I guess Steve Stephens' fifteen minutes of fame are over. Along with his life.

This will never really end for the family of the victim, Robert Godwin. I saw his distraught family on TV yesterday. Very sad to see their pain. His wife or sister said she was not only grief stricken but felt like she was losing her mind. Very understandable reaction.

Earlier today the victim's family said they forgive Steve and want to hug him.

Also the 75 year old victim leaves behind a 35 year old girlfriend lover. They have been an item for at least 10 years.

Seems to be contradictory sentiments coming from the victim's family. On one hand is the full forgiveness and wanting to give hugs to Steve. Then now after learning of the suicide shot a family member says it shouldn't have ended that way and instead he should have been killed in a hail of hundreds of bullets. They wanted a huge final shootout with Steve being killed.

It may also be differences of opinions between different family members. I'm not keeping track of who is saying what.

A number of family members have spoken publicly. I suspect the guy offering forgiveness is not the same guy hoping for a hail of bullets. There's no reason to think anyone is speaking for everyone.

I wonder if that "we have no info on an Erie ping" thing was about not letting Steve know that they know where he is. I wonder if the initial report came from an unauthorized leak that wasn't supposed to happen.
