Cont: President Trump: Part 3

So April 1st and crushingly Donald has NOT called a press conference to announce it was all a prank:mad:

Instead he just continues with the steady drip feed of embarrassment and incompetence:

Trump leaves room before signing orders

Amid journalists' confusion, Vice-President Mike Pence picked up the orders from the table, and they were signed in another room.

Immediately following the Trumpcare fail Donnie's approval ratings dipped to a new low, 35% (with 58% NOT approving of how he is handling the duties of president) but he has rebounded to a 38% approval rating. Link Trump has never scored higher than 45% and his disapproval ratings have always been higher than his approval ratings.

Related, Trump is all about appearances and he won't be throwing out the first ball at the Washington Nationals baseball team's home opener. The team invited him -- the president throwing out the first ball at the Washington team's Opening Day game is a time honored tradition -- but the White House quietly declined. The reality is, if Trump appeared at the ball park, when he was announced to the crowd, the chances are pretty good he would then be subjected to loud, long and lusty booing. That 'photo op' would then be on every network's evening news program (with the possible exception of Fox) and probably be shown on news stations all around the world. Donnie doesn't want that so he won't be there Opening Day.

Sad. ;)

I expect it to bounce around there for a while. don't worry too much about the day-to-day read, it looks like sampling error. Unless he manages to actually grow into the role of president, his approval rating will sink slowly.

Presidents, first ladies, and the like always draw some boos when they make such public appearances. Toupee Fiasco is simply to delicate to deal with it.

You know who would love to throw out that first pitch for the Nats... and would love the lusty boos? Alec Baldwin.

Just sayin' - somebody get this idea to the DNC.

Has a President ever thrown a strike?

Top Trump financier Robert Mercer owes $6.8 billion in taxes due to misrepresentation of trades by his hedge fund.

Renaissance’s profits were further enhanced by a controversial tax maneuver, which became the subject of a 2014 Senate inquiry. According to Senate investigators, Renaissance had presented countless short-term trades as long-term ones, improperly avoiding some $6.8 billion in taxes. The Senate didn’t allege criminality, but it concluded that Renaissance had committed “abuses.” The I.R.S. demanded payment. (Renaissance defended its practices, and the matter remains contested, leaving a very sensitive material issue pending before the Trump Administration.)

How convenient for him that he's already purchased the President.

Trump spoke to the Financial Time and, hoo-boy, it is something.

Are you going to equalise tariffs?

I don’t want to talk about tariffs yet, perhaps the next time we meet. So I don’t want to talk about tariffs yet. But you used the word equalise. That is a very good word because they are not equalised. If you used a word other than tariff, it is not an equal. You know when you talk about, when you talk about currency manipulation, when you talk about devaluations, they are world champions. And our country hasn’t had a clue, they haven’t had a clue. The past administration hasn’t had and many administrations — I don’t want to say only Obama; this has gone on for many years — They haven’t had a clue. But I do.

How has someone still not told him that China has stopped devaluing their currency? How can any state department negotiate with the US operating on his presumptuous ignorance?

President Trump has been in office for a sufficient time to make a general "catch-all" thread unwieldy and inappropriate. If there is an aspect of his presidency or another topic on US Politics that you wish to discuss, please start a thread upon that topic. This thread is now closed.
