Do you honestly believe that half the voters in the US are either bigots or idiots or both?
Well first, despite what Trump keeps saying, he got rather less than half the votes. Secondly, yes a significant chunk of Trump voters are bigots, deal with it. Then you have those who despite being perfectly aware of those bigots support held their noses and voted Trump just because he was the Republican candidate/wasn't Hilary. Then you have the ones who preferred to believe the fantasy of build the wall/bring back the jobs rather than deal with the reality. As to idiots, well I get the impression there are certain posters here who voted Trump just because it would annoy certain groups of people, does that make them idiots?
I have no idea of the relative ratios, but I'm pretty sure that covers the overwhelming majority. If you want to argue people made a considered, rational decision to support Trump based on a clear set of policy positions, well you feel free to climb that mountain.
