Cont: President Trump: Part 3

That has literally nothing to do with what I posted.

You said, "sticking to an ideology that has no application in the real world." My ideology was one where commitments made by previous people does not confine the actions of future Leaders. I have a real world application of that ideology.

Argentina default is literally an example of my ideology used in real world application.

I didn't think Trump had any credibility to begin with. Long before his election Trump demonstrated that the truth is irrelevant to him. That anyone would believe that lying piece of crap is beyond me. I have never in my entire life known anyone that lies as much as Trump. That anyone could think that he would change after he became President is a moron.

Trump is a fake president and an embarrassment to the United States. Now, we are coming into "Watergate 2.0." It is troubling that Trump lies blatantly and yet, his supporters see no wrong with that.

That's a terrible ideology if you're looking for consistency from a country or countries that have turnover every election.

Wait. I think I get you now. You were not referring to a broader ideology I said in a series of posts, but that phrase that countries do not have principles. That does have real world application and is realpolitik.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Realpolitik

Realpolitik (from German: real "realistic", "practical", or "actual"; and Politik "politics", German pronunciation: [ʁeˈaːlpoliˌtɪk]) is politics or diplomacy based primarily on considerations of given circumstances and factors, rather than explicit ideological notions or moral and ethical premises.

Yeah, I don't get that. It's close to impossible for me to respect someone who lies about everyone and everything.

I guess mountbanks the world over learned this some time ago. People don't mind lies as long as it's what they want to hear. OTOH the truth can be very uncomfortable and unacceptable at times.

A question like "Does my bum look big in this ?" I think illustrates this nicely ;)

[Time out for Future Proofing.]

Not going to start a thread for it, but I am...

Laying Down a Gauntlet!

Time for GOPers to start explaining NOW how they really, truly, honestly support Pence and want Trump out, listing all the major reasons and, when possible, citing existing posts. I am doing this so I have a post I can cite that will allow me to - sorry - slaughter the fake claims that will inevitably come waaaaay down the road if and when Trump quits/is impeached/is committed to an asylum. There will be NO claiming "I wanted this all along" unless you get started NOW, and further, can reliably show it is already your position. Add reasons you are against Trump too late, and they will be called out as fig-leafing, your cred then as low as that of the soon-to-be Orange Crushed. Pence-is-Colas! in waiting, there will be no last-minute bandwagoning without consequence! Act now, or find your fall-back position already overrun, with nowhere to hide.

/Time out. My apologies, but that was enjoyable, and potentially useful. Made me thirsty, though.

What does a strong military mean? You don't think our military is strong now? America is like the white trash neighbor who buys every firearm possible but his children are in rags and haven't seen a dentist or a doctor and his house is falling apart.

In fact, it's not like that neighbor. It IS that neighbor.

There is a difference between saying 'no' to your wife when she asks if she looks fat in an outfit and continously saying outrageous things like the former President bugged Trump Tower and then following it up with that the British intelligence helped when you don't have a reason to believe either.

Or yesterday tweeting out that the NSA and the FBI told Congress that Russia did not influence the electoral process. Neither did that.

Or that he had won more electoral votes since Ronald Reagan.
Or that Bernie Sanders was cut off from CNN for using the phrase “fake news.”
Or that thousands” of people were bused across state lines to vote.
Or that Chris Cuomo did not askSen. Blumenthal about him falsifying his service in Vietnam.
Or that he was facing a historic delay to get all of his cabinet nominees confirmed.
Or that the murder rate was the highest in 45 years.
Or that terrorist attacks across Europe are “not even being reported”
Or that Kuwait had issued a visa ban on several Muslim-majority countries after his immigration order.
Or that Delta, protesters, and Sen. Chuck Schumer’s tears were to be blamed for the problems over his travel ban.
Or that he was in Scotland the day before the “Brexit” vote.
Or that the murder rate is rising in Philly.
Or that Mexican president “agreed to cancel” a meeting.
Or that two people were shot and killed during Obama’s farewell speech.
Or voter fraud.
Or the size of his inauguration crowds
Or the size of his tiny hands.

Every one of these are demonstrable lies and I've just scratched the tip of the iceberg.

Nice try. The post I responded to simply claimed that countries are constructs. Here:

Countries are a social construct. They do not have "honesty" or "principles".

But since countries are obviously real groups of real people who actually have, sometimes, honesty or principles, you are clearly wrong.

Your example has nothing to do with any of that.

Someone should explain the Streisand Effect to Donald.

A new report indicates that*Donald Trump‘s lawyers have gone*after a teen who operates a gag site.

Interestingly, the report is from the*Observer, which is owned by Trump’s son-in-law,*Jared Kushner. Perhaps more interesting — the site that received*the cease and desist order is one that shows the president being punched by kittens. We’d link to the site, but one of the URLs leads to a 404 error message and the other now leads to*porn, courtesy of an opportunistic entrepreneur of some sort.

Which is what I addressed in post 2245.

Individual members of a group having principles does not imply a group has principles.

Further, countries are social constructs.

a social mechanism, phenomenon, or category created and developed by society; a perception of an individual, group, or idea that is 'constructed' through cultural or social practice

While correct in theory, talking about countries as social constructs is meaningless in this context, unless you propose to abolish the USA (in which case past obligations would become null and void).

Today the Wall Street Journal raised some eyebrows with a withering editorial saying Trump's disregard of the the Truth might lead to him being regarded by most Americans as a "Fake President". Coming from the solidily GOP Journal, this is a sign for even more trouble ahead for Trump.

I only propose making foreign policy decisions without applying anthropomorphism to the country. That makes it a lot harder. The arrow impossibility theorem pretty much tossed out any notion of a collective will.

But maybe I'm crazy. I have no understanding of how anyone who is also a football fan has a team. No squad is identical from year to year and no single on field element is the same over a decade. How people can be fans of the same team over decades is nonsensical to me.

Then you must be baffled as to how the same anyone can do anything for decades because

1) People consist of an association of a huge number of living cells.
2) over a period of decades these cells all or almost all die and are replaced a number of times.

See http://book.bionumbers.org/how-quickly-do-different-cells-in-the-body-replace-themselves/
