President Trump: Part II

Bannon just compared himself with Thomas Cromwell, the Minister for Henry the Eight.
Bannon should remember how Cromwell ended up...........

It's a transcript of his black history month remarks. Which amounted to criticizing the media and praising allies for praising him.

Oh, he stumbled through what he must have thought was complimentary to African Americans as well..."They're incredible people."

Gawd help us the man is soooooo tone deaf.

Have any Repubs given a clear explanation of what regulations they see as so onerous? Most regulations result from a failure or injury of some kind that resulted from negligence or fraud, going back to tainted food and poisoned drugs and factories where workers trapped in fires burned to death and collapsing coal mines and cars exploded in minor accidents. Bernie Sanders said that the Democrats made a wrong turn by allowing Repubs to disparage regulations. He said they are "protections," and we should be saying that the Repubs want to take away working Americans' protections -- as they are.

Trump met with some Big Pharma reps and repeated the nonsense he could just tell them so and they will lower drug costs. Then Trump said he would eliminate regulations and make it easier to get FDA approval. I take it Trump doesn't think Congress plays any role in passing or changing regulations.

It's dangerous and getting worse.

And I totally agree, the Democrats have lost complete control of the narrative. We really need to start by taking that back.

I'm kind of disgusted by CNN right now. Wolf Blitzer and his talking heads are talking about how Trump may have been humbled by his visit to Dover. They talk as if The Hair is a person. A person might be humbled by a trip to Dover to see the return of human remains but The Hair is a character being portrayed, something less than human. The hair won't be humbled because it's not a person.

To be honest... if they took a more rational approach it would go a long way... not to mention the putrid vitriol I've observed in debates drawing parallels to the 3rd reich need to cool their jets and stop letting fear dictate their attitudes. I've criticized liberal policies at length on and off... for one... but even if I disagree with that isle on policy grounds they are responsible for providing checks and balances... one party presently has a majority over all three branches. Not exactly my cup of tea...

Oh and before i forget... here is my personal opinion on the vitriolic hate for members who have done anything to argue in favor of Trumps' policies. It feeds the troll. People should be aware of Trumps' abrasive persona and understanding of the fact that sneer behavioral rhetoric gets used against people all the time when they make themselves easy criticism targets. If theres anything to learn from 8 years of republicans playing the obstructionism role... its that boycotting hearings does nothing.

WTF!

The Trump administration wants to revamp and rename a U.S. government program designed to counter all violent ideologies so that it focuses solely on Islamist extremism, five people briefed on the matter told Reuters.

The program, "Countering Violent Extremism," or CVE, would be changed to "Countering Islamic Extremism" or "Countering Radical Islamic Extremism," the sources said, and would no longer target groups such as white supremacists who have also carried out bombings and shootings in the United States.

Such a change would reflect Trump's election campaign rhetoric and criticism of former President Barack Obama for being weak in the fight against Islamic State and for refusing to use the phrase "radical Islam" in describing it. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for attacks on civilians in several countries.

The CVE program aims to deter groups or potential lone attackers through community partnerships and educational programs or counter-messaging campaigns in cooperation with companies such as Google (GOOGL.O) and Facebook (FB.O).

I just had the strangest thought:
Maybe Ted Cruz wouldn't have been that bad.

He wouldn't have done this.

It should have been one of the most congenial calls for the new commander in chief — a conversation with the leader of Australia, one of America’s staunchest allies, at the end of a triumphant week.

Instead, President Trump blasted Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull over a refu*gee agreement and boasted about the magnitude of his electoral college win, according to senior U.S. officials briefed on the Saturday exchange. Then, 25 minutes into what was expected to be an hour-long call, Trump abruptly ended it.

At one point Trump informed Turnbull that he had spoken with four other world leaders that day — including Russian President Vladi*mir Putin — and that “This was the worst call by far.”

We won't have a friend left in the world six months from now the way things are going...except for maybe Uncle Vlad.

Maybe Trump really is a Russian agent trying to alienate America from all of its traditional allies so it will have no other choice than to cozy up with Russia.

That's the only rational explanation for this disgraceful behavior, not that Trump has any shortage of behavioral problems that might explain his bizarre actions.
