President Trump: Part II

From that link, I found this fascinating:
ICE executive associate director Thomas Homan has been elevated to the role of acting chief. The agency's Twitter account says that Daniel Ragsdale, now out of that job, was returning to his previous position as deputy director of ICE.
Three free internets to the person who can diagram the organizational structure of ICE. :)

Is it a fact?

If so, I remind you those have been determined to no longer matter.

In other words, do you think they really give a flying **** about rules and procedures?

Oh, yeah, damn, my bad. One would think I'd picked that up from my own backyard by now :p

John Dean, one of the last surviving main figures in the Watergate scandal, basically said he has seen this movie before, and the Trump Presidency will end in catastrophe like the Nixon Admnstration.

Risky, but the "no paper trail" thing could be very useful down the road.
One of the legitimate reasons for concern over Hillary's private server was that it served to be motivated partly from a desire to avoid FOIA. Trump seems to be avoiding it in a different manner.

Agreed. I'm not defending this as an ethically sound decision, just suggesting that it may avoid the problem of getting caught destroying documents or something similar later on.

Uncertainty and the resulting volatility is how a lot of money is made on Wall Street these days - but it is detrimental to the economy as a whole.

You're talking about stock traders though, aren't you? They may fare pretty well but I think the economists are thinking more in terms of industry, corporations and large retailers. And not just Wall Street but worldwide.

Big business doesn't like volatility. They have a tendency to pull their heads down when the economic skies become cloudy. If things happen like reduced investment in ongoing projects (an example would be a food processor deciding not to build the new assembly plant just yet), big retailers carrying lower inventories (that can effect a lot of businesses besides the retailers), slowed housing starts -- buyers decide the economy seems too unsettled so now is not a good time to take a mortgage -- I think these are the kinds of economic 'bad news' the economists fear more than prospects for making money trading stocks.

Have we seen this?

Some of the same things fit under GW according to the author, Naomi Wolf: Fascist America, in 10 easy steps
From Hitler to Pinochet and beyond, history shows there are certain steps that any would-be dictator must take to destroy constitutional freedoms. And, argues Naomi Wolf, George Bush and his administration seem to be taking them all.
Add Bannon to the mix and you're another step toward the goal.

1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy
That was around the time of 9/11 and the USAPATRIOT Act. It hasn't changed, fear mongering terrorism remains exaggerated.

2. Create a gulag
Gitmo and the Black Op sites went semi-dormant under Obama. Trump wants to wake them up. The drone assassination program, OK to kill US citizens is not comforting.

3. Develop a thug caste ...
4. Set up an internal surveillance system ...
5. Harass citizens' groups ...
Did you know Erik Prince of Blackwater-XE Services-and now Academi is the brother of Betsy DeVos?

6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release
Felony charges still pending for folks arrested protesting Trump's inauguration.

7. Target key individuals ...
8. Control the press ...
The government website to help Wells Fargo whistle-blowers disappeared after Trump took office

9. Dissent equals treason ...
10. Suspend the rule of law ...
Public Law 109-364 passed in 2007 under Bush makes Martial Law easier to declare.

Bottom line, Bush merely opened the door a crack. Trump is the kind of POTUS who might push it the rest of the way open. Though I don't think the GOP controlled Congress would allow him to go that far.

Except I can see Trump refusing to resign and if impeached, refusing to be removed from office.

I would like to know what you think of this artist, and his views on the society that elected Donald Trump.

Not much. Way too apocalyptic for my case.
And the accompanying theses on resistence are nothing but word salad.
And I love the way he dismisses any practical action as "Useless".
Also seems to be hard core Marxist in it's approach.
It sounds like the kind of thing posted by 16 year old kids heavily into existentisal despair who dress in black and drink way too much coffee.
