At work and just had a terrible thought, no sources or anything and it might just be my paranoid mind.
Could 'make america great again' be code for 'make Christianity great again'? Is he planning on dragging the world into a global religious war, could some of the things he's done like approving the oil pipelines be part of gearing up for such a thing?

Please tell me my mind is running away with itself.

It could be code for "Make America grate again" and may turn out just to be an elaborate marketing effort for traditional cooking cheeses.

Yeah, America is certainly grating at the moment. The next President will have the job of making America one again.

Your mind is running away with itself.

Yes, it's the cruscades all over again. Get your swag together and head to the Holy Land for some rape and pillaging, perhaps of some European city if that seems too far to go. All part on the Bannon plan.

The critical feature of the slogan is that no one defines what would constitute a better America: if you can't measures progress, no one can accuse you of not making any.

WEll America has days of "patriotic devotion" now. Nice to see cultural interchange with North Korea after so many decades of isolation

"Day", not "days". It's just the chosen name for his inaugural day.

Thankfully, presidents can't just make recurring holidays.

I wonder if anyone's taking bets on which birthday of his will be the next day of "patriotic devotion" he declares

Probably. But thinking of him saying other presidents didn't do war right and he would if he got into office, now weeding out those who would be against anti muslim action, and the oil and revived steel and coal industries would be very useful in that situation too, all planned to be under the guise of making america great again.

The way to think about it is to look at his track record. He's been around for ages and had a few tries at getting things done. A few hotels, some real estate deals and golf courses. Was he effective in transforming his visions into reality?

I'd say, "moderately." But now consider he heads an organization full of folks he didn't hire, who aren't on board with his ideas, and most of whom he can't simply fire and replace. Add to that his funding source is a gaggle of combative politicians and about half his stockholders (you and I) don't like him and are suspicious of his every move.

Sure, he can taint our brand, but bankrupt the company? Naw, don't see that. Trump doesn't own America, he's just been given permission to drive it a little bit.

......Sure, he can taint our brand, but bankrupt the company? Naw, don't see that......

He's already achieved the former, just by taking office. As for the latter......start a trade war with China and see how close to bankruptcy America comes.

More likely it is code for resurrecting the Tony the Tiger slogan.
Seriously, can you think of anyone more antithetical to Christianity than President Trump? He stirs up the rabble base with lip-service to fundamentalist Christians, but he is solely interested in money and power, based on his track record.

Wouldn't that need a Chinese Trump on the other side to produce that result?

Nope. Not at all. It just needs your madman to slap a 20% import duty (say) on all goods from China. At that point, you can kiss your economy and your jobs goodbye.

Awesome Trump (double) tweet:

@realDonaldTrump said:
The joint statement of former presidential candidates John McCain & Lindsey Graham is wrong - they are sadly weak on immigration. The two... ...Senators should focus their energies on ISIS, illegal immigration and border security instead of always looking to start World War III.

Spot on, that's what these two rats have been doing for the last years, in bed with the scum of the earth if Syrian Islamists or Ukrainian Nazis - yet no whining from "skeptics", some of them even think to this day that Mad McCain is among the "rational" of the Republicans.

Sad.

The slogan he stole from Reagan, btw.
