Obama Weighs In

The orange fool deserves no respect, no courtesy, no quarter. He's frothing up the bigoted idiots and will ruin countless lives for no reason than his own greed and ego.
Lol
The agony of defeat!

Obama is a person with zero honor, just another punk from the left.

We're going off-topic, but Obama lied about what Bush did in Iraq. He lied about the Status of Forces Agreement, first taking credit for bugging out of Iraq in 2011, and then claiming that he had no choice because had to honor Bush's agreement.

He lied about what Bush had accomplished with respect to Iran's nuclear program, blaming him for Iran acquiring centrifuge technology, even though Bush's administration through its pressure on and subsequent deal with Qaddafi was able to unravel the A Q Khan nuclear tech smuggling network (which was responsible for giving Iran centrifuge tech).

He lied about the Fast and Furious program beginning under Bush.

I could go on for pages if I bring up stuff related to the economy, the financial crisis, financial regulation, and taxes.

Oh, so all you have is more #alternativefacts .

Giuliani has been quoted as saying -- quite smugly, actually -- that Donald Trump asked him how he could legally keep Muslims out of the country, and Giuliani helped draft Trump's order. However it's phrased, the intent is clearly to keep some Muslims out of the country. Interestingly, the seven banned countries have sent a total of ZERO terrorists to the U.S., while Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt and other countries have produced many. But -- purely by coincidence, no doubt -- Trump has business interests in those countries.

I haven't seen a source that Trump had business interests in Pakistan.

Besides the obvious fact that there are different strands of Islam that have a tendency to dislike each-other to the point of violence another great example is the ex-soviet states in central asia. These have a Muslim majority population yet their leaders are highly intolerant towards devout Muslims and essentially see them as a gateway drug to Islamism and terrorism. By having a long beard, wearing a veil or otherwise displaying your religious convictions in public they risk being government persecution.
The United States is a majority Christian nation and there's a significant minority of those people who won't shut up about how persecuted they feel.

I think most of the American public likes the idea of Obama, but not so much the reality of him. His approval ratings always rose when he was out of the news, and they dropped when he was doing his usual condescending blather on TV. His approval ratings are only high because Trump and Clinton sucked all of the attention away from him.

You're practicing apologetics.Making excuses and rationalizing in a desperate attempt to spin reality. In many ways I didn't like Obama as President but I'll never be sure if it is Obama's fault or the Republicans fault in opposing him on everything even if they may have agreed with him. That said, he was generally a well liked President outside of the people that hate Democrats or people of color.

Trump going into office is the least popular president maybe ever. Certainly for a very long time. He seems to like causing problems instead of solving any so my guess is this is just the beginning of one hell of a lot of turmoil. He certainly is not doing anything so far that will unite the nation.

Well, that didn't take long. Obama's actually had vacations in Hawaii that lasted longer than his respectful silence on his successor's policies.

He is a private citizen he is allowed to criticize his government. It's in the
Constitution.

11 days. That's it. George W. Bush has kept his mouth shut for over 8 years now, and Obama lasted 11 days. And when he opens is yap, he even dishonestly characterizes his successor's actions:

Bush never had anything intelligent to say when he was president why would he start yapping after?

The executive order on immigration does not discriminate against individuals because of their faith or religion. It discriminates based on their country of origin. That's a pretty big difference.

Wrong. It states that only people from those countries must belong to the religious minority in order to claim refugee status in the US. As all the countries have Muslim majorities it is a direct attack on Muslims.

I predicted that the former narcissist-in-chief wouldn't be able to keep silent. Doesn't matter though. It won't take long for people to tune him out. They were already doing it for the last year anyway.

Funny, he had the highest approval rating of any exiting president and there are a large number of people who voted for Trump who want their vote back.

And those is fact facts not Trumpian alternative facts.

The other thing is that all his decisions so far will have a negative effect on the economy. Sweeping import tariffs raise inflation and the cost of living. Manufacturing jobs will not return to the US because they have been automated. New jobs will only come through education and skill development, two things Trump, and most Republicans, are wholeheartedly against.

This reminds me of Dover v. Kitzmiller. Creationists had rebranded their already thrown out Creation Science as Intelligent Design. But they didn't hide it very well with many documents exactly the same word for word language with the exception of the two terms. The judge that ruled against the Creationists, himself an evangelical Christian said it was a dishonest attempt to smuggle Creationism into the schools.

Giuliani has admitted that this is similarly disingenuous. What is sad is just how phoney Trump and his supporters are acting.

So completely ridiculous!

I have my own business, republicans are business. We are the ones offering jobs to the skilled work force and we aren't hiring machines.

It may help if you read the order.
Given the context of the order (which is focused on seven Muslim-majority nations), this means that Trumpler is directing the State Department to prioritize refugee claims of non-Muslims.

So, would you like to try again?

Most of the muslim countries in the ME have a religious split of Sunni/Shia that is no closer than 70/30. There is always a Muslim minority religion. The order does not specify religious categories, does it? Does it say "non-muslims" somewhere?

I suspect the persecution between them is worse than persecution against Christians given that there is basically an active Sunni-Shia war going on. Christians aren't a threat to sovereignty.

Then why include the 1st amendment-violating clause at all?

People are so busy trying to find excuses for this ******** when there is no excuse whatsoever. Every bit of it is wrong from conception to execution. If it appeared to actually accomplish something useful (e.g., if there was evidence that Americans were under huge threat of terrorism at home), I could see defending it. As it is, your bed is a much greater statistical threat to your safety than foreign-born terrorists. So, what the **** is the point of preventing Muslims [from any country] from coming to the US apart from telling them that the US hates them just as much as their extremists hate the US?

You're angrier at Obama for speaking up than at Trump's actions?

Ugh. Just ugh.

Did you honestly expect anything else? Even if the great thinkers disagree with Trump strongly, even on the exact same grounds that Obama disagrees, it's more important to them to attack the Democrat.

He is a private citizen he is allowed to criticize his government. It's in the
Constitution.

Citizen? Are you sure about that? Maybe Trump should look into that if Obama doesn't shut his yap.

Bush never had anything intelligent to say when he was president why would he start yapping after?

What does saying something intelligent have to do with this? Obama didn't say anything intelligent.

Wrong. It states that only people from those countries must belong to the religious minority in order to claim refugee status in the US. As all the countries have Muslim majorities it is a direct attack on Muslims.

Oh boy are you going to be embarrassed if you actually read the executive order. If you understand it that is. If you're capable of embarrassment of course. Hmmm. That's a lot of "ifs." Oh well, carry on with your alternate reality.

Funny, he had the highest approval rating of any exiting president and there are a large number of people who voted for Trump who want their vote back.

LOL. You know this how exactly?

And those is fact facts not Trumpian alternative facts.

Well, if you say "fact" enough, maybe you'll convince somebody you know what you're talking about.

Citizen? Are you sure about that? Maybe Trump should look into that if Obama doesn't shut his yap.
The MORON already did.

What does saying something intelligent have to do with this? Obama didn't say anything intelligent.
I thought our former President definitely spoke with more intelligence then Trump could ever hope to.

But hey, that's just a matter of opinion.

Then why include the 1st amendment-violating clause at all?

First Amendment? Do you really think the First Amendment applies to whom we decide to let into the country? The Congress has plenary authority over immigration, and it has delegated the national security aspects of immigration to the President. There are literally no constraints on immigration which are proscribed by the Constitution.

People are so busy trying to find excuses for this ******** when there is no excuse whatsoever. Every bit of it is wrong from conception to execution. If it appeared to actually accomplish something useful (e.g., if there was evidence that Americans were under huge threat of terrorism at home), I could see defending it. And why do you care exactly? There are probably 6 billion people in the world who would love to immigrate to the US. And a significant fraction of them would be a net benefit. It's not like literate, educated people who share our values are in short supply around the world. Why should we have to give priority to people who come from failed societies? So liberals can feel good about themselves?

Garbage policy from a garbage human with no evidence of necessity. I don't need any additional reasons to disagree with it. The fact that it ignores the spirit and letter of the Constitution is just rancid icing on the garbage cake.

Also, you might be surprised to learn that billions of people in this world would never want to leave their home and country. Maybe you could cite a source for the highlighted sentence above? Or is it yet another hyperbolic lie, perhaps inspired by the garbage human mentioned above?

Also, who's the "our" in "our values?" Do you have a mouse in your pocket? Because you don't share my values.
