Presentation Summary:

This presentation goes into the most popular forms of "ghost & spirits" that are allegedly caught on camera & video. We'll take a look at examples from ghost hunting groups and famous ghost photos, and compare them to recreations. We'll break down how the camera - both still and video - capture these anomalies and ghost hunters misinterpret the images.

I find it amusing in a sad sort of way that anyone these days really believes in photographic orbs.

I've actually had an entertaining experience with this on this forum, some years ago. A now banned poster calling himself "Historian," who believed in orbs, and in reptilian spacemen and shape shifting sasquatches, once took the bait as I presented a picture of a beautiful orb. He opined on the nature of the spirit in the orb which he interpreted from is size and content, and how benignly it was watching over my hapless little nephew. It was, of course, an artifact of a small-sensor digital camera with flash in a dusty room, as such things generally are. A similar camera in rain can produce glowing fairies by the flock.

Anyway, good luck to the enterprise. I doubt it will help much. Just because your orbs are fake and look just like mine does not mean mine are. Mine are real. You can't prove they're not!

edit to add: I found the picture. Here is Teddy with his protective orb.

It was taken with a very early Kodak digital camera, a champion orb-catcher!

Looks very interesting. I hope there will be a way to make the presentation viewable to us who can't attend in person.

A bit depressing. You think something has been thoroughly dismantled, but it keeps popping up.

Orbs are so easy to create.

Woo-sters are geniuses at repackaging, rebranding and reselling old nonsense. It's an industry, not a science, after all. :D

Audio of the talk should be available a few days after it happens. Please check here in the future.

Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions, we have been forced to cancel the talk. We hope to have Kenny come at another meeting in the future and give his talk. I am sorry to disappoint anyone who wanted to attend, but we had no choice.
