We all know about the 2 page summary, where's your evidence said two pages have been leaked instead of just referred to?

Unless you can post a link we can parse, and unless you can show that Trump and his minions are only talking about the small detail you are referring to, you prove my point, you are accepting the lie as truth.

ABC's recent report states how the 35 pages came to public light after circulating for months:
" Its existence became known publicly following reports the intelligence community had briefed Trump on the dossier."

The leak-->>CNN-->>Dossier on buzzfeed. The chain reaction was predictable.

The 2-page summary was not leaked. That would entail handing the media a classified document. But Obama and Biden certainly didn't think much of that report:
Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday that top intelligence leaders told him and President Barack Obama they felt obligated to inform them about uncorroborated allegations about President-elect Donald Trump out of concern the information would become public and catch them off-guard.

"As a matter of fact, the president was like, 'What does this have anything to do with anything?'" Biden said. He said intelligence leaders responded by saying "Well, we feel obliged to tell you, Mr. President, because you may hear about it. We're going to tell him," referring to Trump.

Biden said intelligence leaders told him and Obama that they couldn't say whether or not the allegations were true or untrue. He said there was "hardly any discussion" about the allegations in the briefing.

"Neither the president nor I asked for any detail," Biden said. But he added of the dossier: "I've read everything."

The question is why did these sources want this dossier out in public now?

I can only guess that when the CIA, FBI, etc... are seriously assessing threats to national security, Trump himself is high on the list.

I think the Intelligence Community (and the White House) has grave concerns that Trump will make terrible rash decisions on Russia before he can appreciate the true situation. He just isn't listening. Getting the media to publish this dossier creates enough questions for Americans that hopefully buys some time.
Before this was published, Trump still could have reached out to mend fences with Putin with decent public support. But now? Not so much. The suspicions are firmly planted.
Of course, he may do it anyway.

But it's not like they hacked the voting system and cast fake votes, and they didn't intimidate or bribe the RNC to elect him, or anything else. They didn't even release false information. They released legitimate and accurate information against Hillary. That ends up supporting Trump in the end, but I have a hard time casting this as an "illegitimate" win for Trump.

I'm not happy with the outcome, mind you, but I still can't get behind insisting that Trump only won because of Russian "tampering" or whatever.

Well there are things like his multiple Dubai golf courses and governmental approvals there of.

The simple answer is that no one really knows because there is no case law on this issue. So it will depend on what congress who can approve such things will tolerate.

The Dubai deal is off, according to Trump. I think he said he lost 2 billion dollars or something like that. Chris B.
 
Has he lost 2 billion dollars, or not gained 2 billion dollars of a deal that hasn't been done yet, and therefore 2 billion is just a guess based on future earnings, over what period?

Did you even look at the link I posted?

A private firm/private investigator generated the report and gave it to lots of people.

The news media could have printed it at any time. The unverified nature of the reports caused them to pause. BuzzFeed chose to stop sitting on it.

Trump has accused the US Intelligence employees of leaking the report. He keeps repeating that.

IT DID NOT HAPPEN, no one employed by the intelligence agency leaked anything.

I believe he said he turned it down. I don't think he physically lost it, though I do remember seeing lots and lots of boxes on tables at the press conference, but he said those were filled with files for placing his businesses in trust.

To me, turning down a 2 billion dollar deal would be a loss of the offered 2 billion, I don't know how you would see it if the same thing happened to you? Or perhaps a lottery win of 50 million? I suppose if a state lottery offered you 50 million and you turned it down it would be a 50 mil loss, wouldn't it? Since your bank account would be an extra 50 million short and all.........

Considering Trump's 'tendency' to exaggerate things, which I am sure even the staunchest of Trump supporters would admit to, do you really believe he lost/passed up what amounts to a quarter of his own questionable estimate of net worth? A grain of salt is not enough salt.

I wasn't so much doubting the non-conclusion of the deal, but rather the reasons and the numbers involved. I find it difficult to believe that anyone would assume that anything Trump says has full face value.

I wouldn't see it as a loss because I haven't lost anything. To lose something, you have to have it in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I think Trump can quite legitimately say that he has, in some way, sacrificed something by turning down the deal (though, we only have his word that is was going ahead in the first place). But it is wrong to describe it as a loss, it is simply a missed opportunity.

Devoting yourself to public service is to some degree a self-sacrificing choice. It is a choice made by millions of people all over the world, myself included. It does, of necessity, involve some sort of sacrifice.
