President Trump

The danger lies when Trump has some down time between twitter rants. He may attempt to govern during those periods.

I'm curious to see how he's going to react to his chosen appointees turning against his policies during their hearings.

"We're not going to torture people."
"We're not going to ban Muslims from entering the country."
"It looks like the Russia did influence the election."

"I'm the President and you're my lackey. You do what I say. You're fired!!"

Looks like their going with tax cuts for the rich repeal and release white papers. I thought they'd at least go with repeal and delay since the current direction will disproportionately affect deep red states like Kentucky and West Virginia. Sucks to be one of the 20 million plus that will lose health insurance due to this but the Trump kids need their tax cuts.

And those who voted for Trump there deserve it!!!

Awesome, soon 3 of my kids will get jacked for coverage. Multiply that out and there will be a lot of unhappy campers.

All Obama's fault, without Obamacare they wouldn't have coverage under your plan and so wouldn't be in the position of losing it

Look, if you've got withdrawal symptoms from heroin, are you going to blame the guy who's forcing you to go cold turkey for your own good (Trump - making America Great Again !!!!!!1!!!!!) or the guy who got you hooked on smack in the first place (the Kenyan-Muslim-atheist-communist Obama) ? ;)

Trump's already lost control of his administration and doesn't even know it. Cabinet nominees are saying they won't do what he promised. Republicans in Congress are doing what they damn well please, having been accustomed to ignoring the pres for the past six years already. His inner circle are continuing to "clarify" when he says something stupid. He may well turn out to be the most disengaged president ever.

Just hope they live long enough to vote in 2020.

They will still vote Trump (or whoever's standing for the GOP) because they'll find a way to blame the Democratic Party for them losing coverage, or will persuade themselves that no coverage, or a plan with terrible coverage, is "better" than the communistical-Obamacare

Unless they're just saying that to get through the hearing and then are actually going to go back "on message" once appointed.

Since most people renew insurance on a calendar basis, very few will lose anything immediately. It's when they go to renew next year that the **** hits the fan and in the interim the Republicans will scramble to get something and blame their inability to do something on Democrats and they will be believed.

"DisruptJ20 is a collective of experienced local activists acting with national support. We’re building the framework needed for mass protests to shut down the inauguration of Donald Trump and planning widespread direct actions to make that happen." Here

Twitter: @DisruptJ20

 Are these people completely ignorant of the various security organizations, including the secret service, that will be involved?

I sometimes wonder if at some point, the Trumpmeister may get so fed up, he may just hand in his resignation.

Never anybody like The Dirtbag (as a former Republican senator once called him), but there is some semblance to governors Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Both attained office with no political or government experience and both say the experience was not at all what they expected. Schwarzenegger said that he went into office expecting to change government, but instead found governing changed him.

I imagine he'll smile, his minions are doing just what Trump does, telling them what they want to hear, truth is not necessary.

On a separate note, I was curious about the risk of being a black POTUS vs the risk of being a seriously unwelcome POTUS.
From the Reuters link on the 'non-peaceful transition' protest:
Security will include more than 3,200 police officers from departments across the country, 8,000 members of the National Guard and an additional 5,000 active-duty military members.

From Wiki on the Obama security at the inauguration:
The police presence in the District of Columbia temporarily doubled, augmented by the addition of 8,000 police officers from around the United States. The police force was assisted by 1,000 FBI agents to provide security for the event,[19][145] and the Secret Service Counter sniper team was assigned to hidden locations throughout the area.[203] The Transportation Security Administration had over 300 officers from its National Deployment Force on hand to assist the Secret Service with security inspections of attendees entering the National Mall.[204] Ten thousand National Guard troops were on site, with 5,000 troops providing security duty in a ceremonial capacity and 1,300 unarmed troops aiding Park Police in crowd control at the National Mall.
Hard to compare exactly since the Wiki notes include increased police in the city and the Trump list looks to only include police at the event.
