Are all Trump supporters racists?

Actually, I remember neither of those. Could you link to a transcript of the speech or interview he made?

President Obama said:
And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

President Obama said:
"The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person, who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know, you know, there's a reaction that's been bred in our experiences that don't go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that's just the nature of race in our society."

He didn't say terrorists. He said Muslims.

Then my previous comments stand. He's an idiot. But do we really want to judge Trump based on what one of his supporters said at a rally? If I find a person at a Clinton rally saying that all industry should be taken over by the government and we should switch to a full Communist led "People's State" will you start calling Clinton a Commie? I should hope not.

There was? All I heard was some dispute about the "half" -- both ways -- and whether it was best left unsaid. She specified who she was calling out and they are deplorable in my opinion. Furthermore, Trump would not have even been nominated without winning their support with his demagoguery.

Oh geez, keep safe inside that bubble. The kind of view you are clinging to in your post is exactly why Clinton and so many other Democrat candidates lost. One can never fully understand what happened until they step out of the bubble. Filtering information based on what you want to hear is not how one determines reality.

But please, continue to sing "Clinton took the popular vote", but at the same time try to acknowledge the reason why so many Democrats lost their elections.
I'll give you a hint, it wasn't because of racism. Chris B.

No. But point of order, the "guy" was at a Rand Paul rally when he made that statement and NOT at a Trump rally. The "assumption" made within this forum of skeptics, is he likely voted for Trump..............Is it OK if I remain skeptical just a bit? Since there's no proof and all.....................

Thanks for the correction.

I've seen this claim made before, can you provide evidence that Spencer has Trump's ear? Or that Trump has ever met or even heard of Spencer?

Apparently he has at least heard of him, because there's a statement from a Trump spokesman denouncing racism.

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/307142-trump-spokesman-denounces-alt-right-meeting-in-washington

Bannon is awfully proud of Breitbart being a platform for the alt-reich. Then there's Trump's retweeting of white supremacists. It's not really worth it to you to keep denying reality. Trump has brought white supremacy into the GOP mainstream.

So, not "white people" then. You should probably amend your post.

So nothing about "crossing over to the other side of the street" then?

You really should start reading these articles before posting.

We should judge Trump for his own many stupid, racist, bigoted comments. We should judge this guy, and the many many other guys in Trump's cadres for their words as well, and we should start recognizing that this isn't a bunch of good ol' boys just 'aving a bit of fun. These are people with vile ideas, and they are crawling out of the wood work to support Trump.

I did. Thank you for proving my point that everyone spins depending on their political views.

I agree, just as we should judge Obama for his words and his associations with people like Jeremiah Wright, Van Jones, William Ayers, Rashid Khalidi and so on. I have no problem with judging Trump like that, I've never been a Trump supporter. I'm just pointing out the blatant double standard involved.

You sure spun it. Although, I'm not sure inventing things whole cloth counts as spinning.

And, no, you didn't amend your post. The lie is still there.

What words should we judge Obama on specifically? I mean, given the fact that the statements of Obama's you have provided thus far have been false?

I have no problem with judging Trump like that, I've never been a Trump supporter. I'm just pointing out the blatant double standard involved.

There's a double standard, indeed, but it's not the one you think.

You say you aren't a Trump supporter. Did you vote for him?

Who's denying reality? So I take it you can link to posts decrying Van Jones' influence on Obama? How about Obama starting his political career at the home of William Ayers? If it's completely unfair to play these "six degrees of separation" games with Obama (and I think it is) why is it fair to do it with Trump? Is President Obama meeting with Black Lives Matter activists at the White House bringing black supremacy into the Democratic mainstream? I would argue no.

As far as Bannon, I've already stated that I don't like his policies, but if he's responsible for everything at Breitbart, is the editor at the New York Times responsible for everything that every contributor writes there?

You haven't been able to link any of the people you mention to Obama, with the possible exception of Ayers. Bill Ayers isn't in the Weather Underground anymore, you know.

You sure are ignorant of what Black Lives Matter is all about. What caused this ignorance?

Yes. That's what being editor-in-chief means.

You didn't answer my question, by the way: Did you vote for Trump? Afraid to answer truthfully?

No lies at all to anyone that can look past their political blinders. Tell me, what percentage of rural Pennsylvania voters are minorities?

So direct quotes aren't good enough? First, what standard of proof do you require? Do you have to actually witness the President saying it or would you still deny it?

Oh, I think it's been made perfectly clear.

You say you aren't a Trump supporter. Did you vote for him?

No, I wrote in a candidate. I find myself in the same position I found myself in on right leaning boards eight years ago when I was making the argument that there were plenty of reasons to oppose Obama's policies without believing that he was a Kenyan-born Muslim that had been trained in Indonesia to infiltrate the US. Same thing with Trump. There are plenty of reasons to oppose Trump's policies (such as they are) without thinking that's he's some secret Socialist, nationalist or otherwise, trying to bring back such Democratic policies as segregation or Jim Crow.

Doesn't matter. Obama never said "White people". You lied. Admit it and move on.

Direct quotes are good enough. You didn't provide direct quotes until called on your BS, and the direct quotes didn't say what you said they did.

Oh, I think it's been made perfectly clear.

It has, but it's not what you think.

Well, good for you. Maybe you should start criticizing him then.

I've already given my criticism of Bannon in this thread, but you skipped right past it in your rush. I think most of Trump's appointments are alright to pretty good. The three I most disagree with, though, are Flynn, Tillerson, and Priebus for various reasons. I agree with Trump's stated policy of enforcing the border and starting to enforce federal immigration laws again, although I strongly disagree with any sort of un-Constitutional "ban on Muslims". I am in favor of background checks for immigrants, however. I strongly disagree with Trump's Carrier deal. Corporate welfare was wrong when Obama did it with Solyndra, it was wrong with "Government" Motors under Bush, and it's wrong now with Carrier.

That's just the first few things that come to mind.

Believe me, I'm much more critical of Trump than anyone on your side was with Obama. For one thing, I've never claimed that Trump was a "Lightworker" or "The One we've all been waiting for" or any of that claptrap.

As mostly a Libertarian, I'm skeptical of all government.

not said by George Washington said:
Government is not reason, it is not eloquence,—it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant, and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.

The quote is almost certainly apocryphal, it didn't start showing up in history books until almost a hundred years after Washington died, but I'd like to think that he would have agreed with it. What I especially like about it, though, is that it answers the typical leftist accusation that Libertarians are just anarchists that don't want any government. Government, like fire, is absolutely necessary to modern life, I just don't want it out of our control.

I've already given my criticism of Bannon in this thread,

Trump. We're talking about criticizing Trump. As opposed to defending him.

The rest of your post is just libertarian clap trap.

Ah, your blinders on that tightly. OK. If your not going to even respond to stuff that you specifically asked for, never mind.

I asked you for criticism of Trump, and you start criticizing Bannon and a few advisors, then go off on a rant where you equivocate the Carrier 'deal' with economic bailouts and have a libertarian rant.

You don't believe criticizing appointments that Trump has made is a criticism of Trump?

I criticized both personal appointments and policy decisions that Trump has made. Just a few of a long list. What exactly are you looking for? And why should I care?

Can you bring yourself to criticize anything done by "The One"?

It is absolutely correct that he was at a Rand Paul rally. And if you'd like to remain skeptical about whether he voted for Trump, feel free. But I think there's decent reasons to think there's a correlation between Rand Paul supporters and eventual Trump voters and especially a correlation between anti-Muslim sentiments and Trump voters. I think you're grasping at straws to pretend he was equally likely to vote Stein or Clinton.

It's conceivable that a Paul supporter -- if he was such, and showing at a rally doesn't necessarily mean so[1] -- would go Libertarian, but Johnson never did much to appeal to strong anti-Muslim sentiments.

[1] My boy went to a Libertarian rally to see what it was like, but he did not support Johnson.

No idea who "The One" is.

As for criticizing Trump, how about criticizing his racism, his misogyny, his contempt for intelligence, him being obviously unfit for any position with any degree of power.

You know, criticize Trump.

Showing the negative qualities and unfitness of his staff and Cabinet choices IS a criticism of Trump's judgement and political philosophy.
