President Trump

Easy to fix, all Trump has to do us pill out of the licensing deal.
Do we think he would?

Putting aside the fact that it was a joke, the statement does not solicit a hack. It simply asks that the Russians release the email that they've already hacked. Which would be good for the US actually. Not knowing what Russia had is far worse.

Them providing some dribble of information some of which came from non-governmental servers gives us damn little information on what ELSE that might have. That said, I'm confident that our snoops have a helluva lot more information than us ordinary schlubs will ever know about.

As far as suspicious activity, there was the (alleged) discovery of a Trump server in concealed communication with a Moscow bank. Sure would like to know what was going on there. (The allegation appeared to be plausible to experts who looked at the evidence.)

It is established that Trump (or those working under his immediate direction) have deleted emails, documents and other information that was under subpoena at the time of the removal. That's not suspicious, that's illegal.

Trump's speeches are always ambiguous in this way. He's quite good at saying things that are so outrageous that he can claim they are jokes.

And the militia types take it as straight talk and the more articulate ones like sunmaster14 can give it a pass by asserting it was just a joke. Win-win for Trump.

From that link:
Trump had planned to make the announcement Dec. 15 but wants more time because he’s been occupied with filling out his cabinet and top administration posts....
Of course. Any it takes a lot of time being producer of a TV program. Give the beleaguered guy half a chance, people.

ETA: Oh, and planning and engaging in that weird set of "victory rallies" also takes time.

But everyone knows Trump violates laws all the time, it is well recorded. That was never viewed as a reason not to vote for him. Because he will bring back coal jobs.

He really needs a slave to whisper in his ear about his own mortality.

There's something I've been thinking about for a while:

Trump's victory is down to identity politics. You see, when you put ethnic groups/genders against each other in a zero-sum game and gloat about one side becoming demographically extinct while bragging about how you are going to take everything away from them, sooner or later they are going to think "Oh **** i'm under threat".

And before you say "everybody wins!" don't be so daft. That sort of neoliberal ideology is what culminated in Brexit, Trump, Grillo and other demagogues.

Exactly there need to be losers or else how can anyone know that they won.

Trump has decided that voter intimidation is the way to move forward.

Donald Trump’s campaign is pressuring Republican electors into voting for them under “threats of political reprisal,” according to a member of the Electoral College who spoke to Salon under the condition of anonymity.

“We have gotten reports from multiple people,” the elector said, “that the Donald Trump campaign is putting pressure on Republican electors to vote for him based on... future political outcomes based on whether they vote for Donald Trump or not.”

The elector emphasized that these reports had come straight from the Republican electors themselves, with the threats steering clear of violence but instead focusing on “career pressure.”

Twitter is left out of the tech meeting (which almost all of the biggest tech companies attended, as did 3 of Trump's children). According to Trump: 'they're too small', according to an inside source: because Twitter refused to agree to a custom emoji next to the 'crooked hillary' hastag.
considerations:
1. Is having the three children, who run his business/es, attend such a meeting not already overstepping propriety?
2. Another example of Trump's punitive approach to well...everything.

Might also be Twitter being the only tech to give a direct "no" to helping Donald build a Muslim database.

Yet trump himself is all over it. The irony never ceases.
